Did you expect a running sausage going faster than real dogs? :)
I don't watch TAS, but I saw on AO's channel that it was warm. I bet they could have gone 45 seconds faster if they dumped George in a bucket of ice water before the race:).

I think Georgie has a mile PR of like 4:47 and would have run faster on the day. He seems to have gotten distracted during the dog mile. Happens to the best of us. Go Georgie!!

Yess I love it. Call influencers out. I'm so here for it. Sage is one of the OG and imo an honest coach with integrity which is hard to find in this greedy buy my supplements they are life changing kind of world.
I think a lot of parkruns are becoming victims of their own success, where they're so busy that they simultaneously are horrible for anyone interested in any kind of hard effort (regardless of the pace they do it at)
My local parkrun is one of the bigger ones in the UK and it sucks for everyone. Super narrow start line with often >1000 people, and the runners congregating both sides of the start line mean the faster runners are mixing it with old blokes and young kids who should be 50m back (and do the same thing every week). Everyone behind, all the way back to the 30 minute "flag" is completely squashed in and tripping over trying to get on the path to start. It's really stupid and definitely going to have a major accident soon.

I'm not in the UK and have never participated in park run. It's a great idea in theory and good for the masses, I think, but for anyone running <18 it seems like a disaster/injury risk waiting to happen. Those Bester videos where he passes everyone give me anxiety.

And this is why people hate Bester making content at parkrun. He's painting a completely inaccurate picture of the parkrun experience by doing stupid/dangerous 'challenges' and only running the busy London ones. It's a shame that due to his content, you might not fancy doing one if you ever visit the UK (or somewhere else with one).
I'm a 17min guy and I've never had any issues running 'fast' at parkrun. Outside of the big ones, theres usually only 10-20 runners going sub-20 so you're always spread out and single file near the front. Courses with out-and-backs or loops generally have wide paths, so even if they're running 3 wide coming the other way, being spaced out near the front means I've never had to slow down.
Ah give Bester a break. What’s with all the nasty comments about him here?
He is a nice guy who loves his running. I’ve been at Battersea when he’s been there running at the front. Nobody is moaning about him, everyone’s just enjoying the parkrun and good vibes all round. He’s very friendly and pleasant from everything I’ve seen. Happy to chat and encourage others. Yes he may have a slight ego but that seems almost a requirement to make your own running YouTube channel and/or be a really good runner.
Some of the comments here are ridiculously over the top. ‘Oh no, he’s running fast at a parkrun and has somebody filming him. Sometimes he even talks quite loudly. Won’t somebody please think of the children’

Grow up guys
I don't think it's unreasonable to call someone weaving in and out of runners, and having some whizzing around on rollerblades is fair game.
No one is saying the risk is super high!
However, there is a risk of knocking someone over or his boy rollerblading into a pushchair. The risk-reward payoff is Bester getting some clickbait - overall, I think it's the self-serving nature of it all that annoys people. Add to this he is the king of cringe: grown adults should not wear matching shorts and tops and go around shouting 'Boom Shakala'.
I would second this. I've gone low 17 at plenty of Parkruns in England and Scotland, and have always found them to be terrific events. Generally people there are extremely supportive, and community spirit is strong. You might lose a few seconds weaving through slower runners on a lapped course, but that's not a disaster at a completely free event. The junior parkruns are also great for kids getting into running. All minor negatives are massively outweighed by the positives of Parkrun.

Of course the quicker people need to weave through runners. What else are they meant to do? Shout at the slower runners to get out of the way?
you talk like someone who has never been to a parkrun. This happens at every lapped parkrun course

Bester should not be a role model to anyone. He is a clown. Decently fast, but a clown

Having someone wizzing round on roller blades filming does not happen at every park run!

I mean you can see from the video that the rollerblader only films in the quieter bits of the course. Once all the slower runners about it’s all done from his head cam.
People just love to get mad about stuff. It’s not that deep. Take a deep breath and relax
Sage going after Kofuzi on all platforms is gold though.
Yess I love it. Call influencers out. I'm so here for it. Sage is one of the OG and imo an honest coach with integrity which is hard to find in this greedy buy my supplements they are life changing kind of world.
TIL people still care what Sage has to say about other influencers. He is becoming less relevant each day. Kofuzi is still a powerhouse who inspires.
Maybe Sage should stop focusing on other influencers and start finding a direction for his floundering channel/racing career. Not sure how long shilling for pube trimmers and $200 pillows is going to sustain him.
Just in the past few years he's gone after Seth Demoor, Nick Bare, David Roche, and now Kofuzi. Didn't he also have a beef with Walmsley before his career took off? Don't get me started on his Spring Energy embarrassment where he tried to be a science hero but got thiccly mushroom stamped in return.

Oh no. Someone from the Kofuzi Discord found this thread.
