If Democrats want to take the high road, they will counter with, "Change temporary DACA fix to permanent DACA fix and we have a deal."
For their own political reasons, I don't think they are ready to do that yet, but I think they should. Not only is it the right thing to do, it would sink Tiny's numbers even lower if he rejects the offer.

The Dems should do exactly what they are doing. They should refuse to negotiate or entertain any offer until the government is fully re-opened. This is actually the right thing to do for both sides. Using a government shutdown as a leverage point needs to be removed as an option for forcing the other side to do what you want them to do.
