Nice finish line for the course. Long straightaway. The overhead gate with the clock and the finish mat make for great tv shots.
Also liked the slo mo camera footage earlier. Nice to see the work the ladies were doing.
Good aerial shots and some nice camera angles from the ground when they went out onto that point at the end into the bay.
Le tour de france excels at the camera work which draws in multitudes of viewers. They also do good work with the stats showing the time separation between the riders. Olympics had a little of this time separation data at the end when the 3 got ahead of the other 2. For big races like this, seems like they ought to add time mats at every 1K and then have a vertical side graphic on the screen showing the top 15 runners with time gaps at every 1K. It would give viewers a much better feel of what was taking place in the race. With the advent of HDTV's, most screens are wide enough to have a side bar graphic without infringing much on the coverage.
The NBC app was great. No ads at all. So nice to watch an entire race without interruptions.
Interesting to see what Rupp can do. If he plays it smart, maybe he can hang when the Africans surge at 35K.
He won't the 10K took too much out of him, and remember he has to deal with about 10 good Africans. He should have picked one.

Ugly course
Tufa clearly suffered a bad muscle injury and could clearly be seen on the stream.

Nobody knows who Cynthia Cooper is. Desi is better known than . . . who is the number 2 male marathoner?
considering the #2 marathoner on the men's side is either meb or rupp, you are mistaken.
Lanni Merchant with an impressive 10K/Marathon double. 32:04 for 25th in the 10K and 2:33:08 for 24th in the marathon today.
That's kinesio tape dood.
Incredible showing by the Americans. 3 in top 9.
Top 10 for two american gals and one mexican mestiza! Great showing for north america!
How about the North Koreans? They would have taken down the Africans if they got the training support of Shalene and Cragg.

Rupp will probably win.

Americans in 2:25, 2:26, 2:28. Strong competitive running. Strong team.
Great showing. I know medals are the focus, but that's a strong performance by USA. Good times in tough conditions and 3 in the top 9.

Agreed! Though it would probably have been 3 in the top 30 rather than top 10 if it were not limited to 3 per country.
I just want to THANK NBC!! I've always been way-annoyed by the marathon coverage of past years. The focus on personal stories (I'm running my sick dog or whatever), commercial interruptions, etc. The STREAMED NBC coverage showed every second, coherent and knowledgeable commentary, etc. it was great! Looking forward to the Men's race.
Looking ahead to tonight's session, which American 1500 runners make the final (if any)? Bmart's tactics make me nervous....NOPer Rowburry and Simpson should get in no problem.
Martinez will either wilt, be the first one out, or will fall and start crying.
Bump since the NBC "no commentary" feed is now live with Henderson getting his gold medal.
Women's 400 semis starting now
