I keep thinking I see someone in the frame with Meb.

He and Boit broke away before half-way. It wasn't really even a strong move, they just assumed he wouldn't be a player.
SHUT UP and go troll somewhere else.
What is the chase pack doing!?! BAA feed not showing
"the world's most prestigious road race" Not based on these elite races, absolute joke.
Serious Question...
Would Ritz have won Boston this year?
Remember that Boit still in between, I think.

What is wrong with you people? This marathon is not set up? Go back and read the predictions. Maybe not the quality of London but this isn't a weak field. Who would rather see win? Rupp? Mo? Hall?
Mile 24 - 4:48 (2:07:49)
Mile 25 - 5:02 (2:12:51)
Jeptoo is flying ran a 15:40 at one point.
2:18:57!!

Hell no.
While I do think Meb is going to get reeled in, there's precedent. Marilson Gomes dos Santos beat Martin Lel (I believe?) in 2008 and Hendrick Ramaala beat Paul Tergat in 2004. Aftewards if I recall Tergat said that he didn't know who Ramaala was so he didn't go after him, but the next year outsprinted him.
Anything is possible! That's what makes the sport great. but still, if you were adding new evidence that Meb is leading and looking good to your strong prior that he's competing against much better marathoners, you'd still put money down on him not winning.
This is a race, not a time trial.

Man, it would be nice if they could afford more than two cameras to cover this race. I haven't seen anyone other than the leaders on the BAA feed. (Other than the random start and finish line shots.)
Awwww, too bad you're not in Boston
WBZ-TV Picture in Picture both races, AND when it goes to commercial the race stays in a box
Rita 2:18:45
Did not think Meb could get anything better than 7th
GO!

No. The field would have marked Ritz much more closely. He wouldn't have been afforded the same gap allowed to Meb.

These marathons really need to hange their starrt times.
An American is winning the men's boston marahton andyet we are going to be watching Jeptoo win the women's race.
Start one race so it ends when t he other race is at halfway!!!!!
Don't be ridiculous. The starting times are staggered just fine. We get to see each finish without congestion. And regular people get to participate.

There can be no doubt. This whole thing is absurd. Where did Meb drop the Africans? And at what pace? Sorry, but that just does not happen.
C'mon. Shalane just had the extended 60 Minutes spot. Wouldn't it have made more sense to fix the WOMEN'S race so the pretty white girl from New England would win instead of the proven, Olympic Medal winning, NYC winning man who we all know is a tough gutsy runner?
We are oging to miss a great men's race as they don't start the races far enough apart:
Meb is still 52 seconds up with just 7k left.

He would have blown Meb out of the water today. What a joke this pace is.
Absolutely. Jeptoo under the 1k to go banner, looks like probably mid-high 2:19 for her.
