Well, thanks wejo for answering my questions. I remain unconvinced, but that's life I guess.

What bugs me so much is... We have Americans busting their asses and sometimes making it to the very top (Centro, Rupp). And what do they get from letsrun once they get there? Threads like this, where smear and innuendo are justified because of the position that they have attained.

Yeah, if he popped a positive, he won't say shit to anyone, but if it's just an internet rumor, you'd hope one of his buds would have his back in here.

I doubt anyone close to Centro would want to bring any more publicity to this cesspool

Maybe, but I've read forums that aren't shitty. Teamliquid comes to mind.

There is much that wejo/rojo could do if they wanted better forums, but they don't have an interest and/or just believe this way is best for open discussion.

I think you can still have perfectly open discussion even with more "control". Some things that to me stand out about successful forums

1) Registered Names - Yes, I know many including brojos are totally against this; but it's good. It holds people slightly more accountable. It could also be easily to have an alt by using multiple emails for multiple accounts. Elite could easily have an "official" account and then a total anon account.

I'll be honest, no one has ever presented to me a compelling reason not have registered names. Under registered names a person can still have multiple accounts.

2) More Intelligent Sections - LRC default section is a giant ass forum with everything. One could for instance have a subforum called Doping/Doping Discussion. People can speculate and discuss all they want their without the negative vibe spilling over in general.

3) Banning - Mods here don't really ban users. They should be. Things that insults to users, or general content-less posts should result in bans. 2 day ban is standard, if user keeps shit posting they get might get a week or month. If it still doesn't stop it's an IP perm.

As it is people are perfectly allowed to post all kinds of drivel, derail topics, and all out flame users. I actually like hearing Ventolin's side of things even if I don't always agree...but he should have banned long ago for flaming users. RCS is another example. He sometimes has intelligent stuff to say, but generally is posting contentless drivel to get responses.

I'm sure lots of people will disagree, saying that reins in LRC and ruins the "fun", and in a sense it does; but it also keeps the forum from being a cesspool. I don't think you can have both, it's one or the other.

Much of what makes this place as it exists now is the way people do act. Lots of trolling, and especially flaming. People routinely insult and degrade other posters here, and except for the rare types that rubs off on people, and creates the hostile environment.

when somebody says a word like "dispel" or something like "i would like to categorically dispel" i have to break out my dictionary. i looked it up

dispel - to make (something, such as a belief, feeling, or idea) go away or end.

if this guy is in trouble, i bet he would like to make it go away.

i have been in all kinds of trouble before, and when i hear something like "categorically dispel" i start thinking ... that sounds like something my buddy larry d. lawyer might say. he uses that lawyer tricknology all the time, so he can say stuff that isn't a lie, but it sure ain't tellin the truth. when larry is helping me out, he tells me to say stuff like dispel. once i was going to say, "deny" and larry started getting all uptight and then tolt me something else to say.

Since not one single person who knows Centro has come forward to dispel any of these rumors, it's clear they are not "false rumors."

Now that he's ruined his own health and reputation with TUE and gray area drug use, he's subjecting this generation of stars to the same risks. However, this time the testers are a step ahead of him.

Centro didn't dope himself. He used something Alberto/Alberto's doctors gave him and assured him it was legal. Several of the NOP athletes were probably using it, and now they are shitting themselves and pulling out of events.

You're smarter than that, so don't play games. A discussion about an athlete is one thing. A discussion about doping is another. A discussion about doping in athletics is another. A discussion about a particular athlete doping is another. Assertions that athlete xyz has been busted and tested positive is entirely different from ANY of those things.

We can all discuss forever whether el G doped. And everyone has their opinions, etc. But asserting that he (or Centro) tested positive, and saying all the info is about to be made public is a very different thing altogether. IMO, this should be banned unless someone puts forward something to back that up.

In this thread, after 2 days, and an absurd # of posts, has ANYONE provided any support for the assertion? Not support for whether Al Sal is dirty, or ideas why they think Centro may dope .. support for the assertion he's actually been busted.

And don't make a ridiculous comment like you or your brother did about having honest discussions about doping and then make an unsupported vague and virtually anonymous claim that you heard offline conversations about this situation recently, before this thread .. show some of that honesty you're talking about, and say what you heard, where you heard it, and what you did to follow it up. Doing what you did is about as DIShonest as it gets. If you're not willing to disclose details like that, all you're doing is gossip mongering.

You guys like to call yourselves journalists, and you wave that banner over your site frequently. What kind of journalistic integrity do you hide behind with completely unsubstantiated rumors without a single source of verification? You wanna break a story? Go ahead, find something that verifies your story, and run with it. Otherwise, retract it, and remove it.

It's ridiculously unfair to Centrowitz to leave this online. I don't say that as a fan of Centro, or the sport, but as someone who knows how long this kind of stuff sticks around the net. Content is scraped, repasted, reposted, and on and on .. and years from now, even if you remove it from LRC tomorrow, you'll see stuff from this thread around the net.

You wanna have a discussion about whether Matthew Centrowitz is doping, go ahead and start one. State why you think he is, or isn't and let the conversation roll. But gossipy bs like this thread stating categorically that he's been busted is absolutely unfair.

1. Did USADA or WADA find anything that they see as unusual in your drug test?

2. Are you (or your representatives) currently fighting a finding of USADA or WADA?

I believe that a YES answer to either of these questions is why this thread exists. All denials have ducked (pardon the pun) these questions.
