TCNJ guys took down Tufts, nothing terribly special, but worthy of note.

Jumbos Open Season With Trinity Invite
Wickham Park, CT plays host to two of the Jumbos XC contests this fall. The first was this weekends Trinity Invitational, while the second won’t be for another seven weeks when the Tufts XC team toes the line for the NESCAC Championships. Looking to give the majority of the team the opportunity to ‘run’ on the conference championship course was the primary goal of this weekends 5k at the Trinity Invite.
Heavy rains on Friday and Saturday left the predominantly grass course soft and slick. Temperatures at this weekends race were ideal with a light mist continuing throughout the mens competition. Packed up early, the entire Jumbo squad took the first two plus miles of the course very conservatively with the front pack reaching the 2-mile mark in approximately 11:05.
From there, the pack split up into smaller groupings. Seniors Jesse Faller and Nick Welch finished the last 1950m of the 5150m course in 5:38 and 5:41 respectively. Fellow senior Ryan Lena stayed tight with junior Jeff Ragazzini and first-year Matt Rand. Rounding out the top seven for the Jumbos were two other members of the class of 2013 in the forms of Sam Haney and Kyle Marks.
Resting this weekend for the squad were juniors Chris Brunnquell and Jerzy Eisenberg-Guyot who were each members of the top 7 for the Jumbos last year. With so few members lost to graduation last spring and a deep group of incoming freshmen, this falls XC squad looks to really push one another to find new heights.
Next weekend the squad is off from competition, but will head back to Connecticut for the Conn College Invitational in two weeks at Harkness Memorial Park. It will be the first 8k of the season for the Jumbos.
-Missing two people from your top 7 last year is not a JV squad.

nevenmind looked at the cobbleskill's website they say its a 5.2 mile course but why in the hell call it 8k on the results.
Now that we have that sorted out, RIT doesn't look too bad. I'm willing to bet Hardbarger can go faster. EIther way, that's 4 guys in the 26s on an 8k right now, maybe a couple under 26 come regionals, and an alright spread for their top 4. Having that gap between 4-5 will hurt bad and definitely bump them back a place or two at regionals if it's still there. Still plenty of time to clean that up. If everything goes well for them I feel that they have a shot at the 5th spot, but they certainly aren't the favorite.
What was the deal with Brockport's meet? New course? I don't think those guys that broke 16 are better than Tom Williams last year when he ran 16:05 or so, also on the women's side 7 girls beat Kelsey Conn's winning time from a year ago and also ran 40-60 seconds faster than the Buffalo State 5k a week earlier. What happened?

That's because you're in love with Fredonia.

The course was changed a little. It goes up a gradual 150m long hill twice now. Before the course stayed on a false flat instead of going up the hill. The new hill added distance so the finish was moved back.
Unlike the past 3 years the course was solid instead of sloppy/wet.

last year williams came second to kosgei, and kosgei droped williams. So williams just cruised in for a mediocre time and so did fredonia second man (who came third). Even with all that wiliiams didn't come on till midway through the season last year, he had a break out race at genneseo invite. So I hope that explains things a little
just b/c u race once, you can still get eligibility back if d/t injury.. thats prob how she got it back
Face it, the kid sucks. stop making excuses.
How can you say he sucks when you yourself probably can't even break 28 minutes for 8k. FYI you suck.
If you didn't know he made nationals last year and came 4th in the sunyac. he can just be inconsistent at times.
He may not one of the top dominant guys like Heyman or dubois, but is definetly better than any of the guys that raced in the brockport 5k this weekend.
so suck on that

Dear Fredonia athletes,
Stop making fools of yourselves. Do your talking on the course.
Sincerely,
The Atlantic Region
RAWR FERDOANYA IS TEH BEST!
ummm if anything the course was slower b/c the gradual incline was replaced with a hill which made the course long so the FLAT finish was actually shortened therefore making it a slower course. There was maybe more competition then last year. Conn and Mesi ran together winning easily. Shut up about Fredonia. They really just aren't that good!!!!
I would agree with you about the Port course. I ran last year and this year. The addition of the hill around 2 1/4 miles was tough. Last year we just ran across the lower portion of that hill and stayed fairly flat. This year the uphill really slowed us down (well me anyway.) This year's run was much tougher and slower.
I cant find Faller in the results? And as the article says, they didnt really run all out so it means nothing to compare tcnj to them. TCNJ seems to be 2 deep, then it might get ugly.

avery from port was 3 seconds behind williams at the buff state invite last week and was one of the guys who broke 16 at the port invite, just beating out william's time from last year... its not that farfetched, the course probably wasn't fast. you fredonia fanboys gotta give it a rest...
he was 3 seconds behind williams who was a minute or more off his game!
