Actually the opposite. Democrats taking office are like the adults entering the room and finding that the Republicans have smeared their fecal matter all over the place. Metaphor for US economy. So, the Democrats get to cleaning it up and while doing so the Republicans sneer at them and say, "see, this is your fault." Every time we have a republican govt in power, chaos reigns within a few years of the term. Bush recession of 2008, Trump Covid response and inflation. Every time the Democrats have to go in and clean it up and deal with the aftermath stench left behind. And on top of it, they get blamed for it!! It's ridiculous. Watch. We will, again, go into a recession because of Republicans. They can't help themselves. It's like they don't understand how a functioning economy works. Or, worse, they are doing it deliberately.

By "bringing back manufacturing" Republicans mean decimating existing manufacturers and forcing Americans into low-wage factory jobs with zero protections like the poor people of Bengledesh. They want you putting in 14 hour days making T-shirts.
I have been having conversations with people that are still in support of this. They keep saying, “ it’s only fair. we are getting back at them.” How are we getting back at them? With our investments and retirement accounts being destroyed and an impending wave of higher prices? Even domestic goods will sky rocket because of scarcity. Does anyone really think that US manufacturers are going to keep their prices down? Who is going to get on them when they are price gauging with the central government being dismantled?

Dude, why would you not sell before the tariff announcement? I did, there was nothing to gain being in the market that day. And if you missed selling before, why would you not sell when you saw the news that day? You had to know it would be more than a 1 day drop.
