Speaking of disappointing American men apparently Klecker is running. Interesting though that you can’t find his name on the tracking list in the app. What name is he using to hide himself and why? You can run but you can’t hide 🤣
So how did Klecker do? Or is that OAC top secret ?
Didn’t even put it on Strava like other real elites. Poh$$y
Had a little look on Dakotah Lindwhurm’s insta for any clues on her slightly lacklustre performance.
She said training had been going really well and she felt fitter than Paris - hitting 130 miles per week. Her most memorable workout was 28 miles prescribed at ‘easy’ pace - which she did at 6.05 min miles for 28 miles?! This does not sound like an easy workout. Even if it felt like that to her. Not marathon pace but surely a bit too fast. Looks like slight overtraining issues to me.

And a bit of love for Ryan Eiler 2:13.36 PR, by the way the seconds his age. A true "amateur" working on his 2nd tech start up just as fast as his running with his first little one arrived in February. His first Boston was in 2018 in 2:40.
Disclosure: He received his first Adios Pro for review at my RoadTrailRun in 2020 and ran the Adios Pro 3 today.

What's the point of running 28 miles for a 26.2 mile race? Her PR is 2:24 (144 minutes) and she's running fast-ish long runs for 170 minutes? Seems like she completely left her race in training
Dude, I don’t think she’s going to change her form at 35 years old with a historic career behind her with a world of accomplishments
by the way, Bill Rogers, Paula Radcliffe, Sifan Hassan, etc., all terrible form with incredible accomplishments
The upvotes on this post is nuts.
You can't tell anything about someone's economy from eyeballing someone's technique. They did a study on it and a bit of bunch of expert judgements were completely random.
Only a real muppet would try to change hellen mf obiris form

Insane trajectory for this guy; the number of amateurs running sub-2:14 is so low, it really is impressive. Hopefully we see him continue to improve and progress.

Exactly - she ran 28 miles at 6.05 pace (she was prescribed an easy run.). Then couldn’t really hold a 5.45 pace for 26 miles. Left her race in training - no need to be running 28 miles, especially at that pace. Seems like a rookie mistake to make.

Only place I have read about running 28 miles before a marathon is in a Gallowalking book.

I thought all the upvotes were stupid because the OP said Rogers had “terrible” form. Your post just confirmed you agreed with me.

She's done an over-distance run in her training before Paris and the Trials. It's rookie mistake to not just check her Strava. She also did significantly more at peak mileage before both races as well. So the block by itself was by no means the problem, but there's certainly a possibility of a cumulative effect of the training itself for the year.

It’s not specifically the 28 miles. It’s the 28 miles at a 6.05 pace. May not be the only reason she underperformed today. I said she was also knocking out 130 mile weeks. That plus the other marathons quite close together. I did check her Strava - there was nothing on it. Maybe she’s set to private.
But she may have had a better day if she hadn’t run 28 miles at 6.05 pace recently.
Years ago I gave up on the MYC marathon TV coverage so today I thought I would tune in at 3pm to watch the 2 hour highlights show.
50 min in and so far less than 5 min or race coverage. Got to see the start of the 2 wheelchair and 2 elite races and then about 3 min of coverage of the mens wheelchair race.
