Also, the high schooler Miller was 5th, and will be in the relay pool. wow.
He’s 18 and it’s the end of June. I guarantee that ANY young man in his position doesn’t say “yeah i’m a high school senior” when he’s trying to smash poon.
Great run from Allie Wilson, loved to see her refuse to crawl along and go for it. Think she makes the team tomorrow.
I hope that all the chicken-poop middle-distance runners who are afraid to ever take the lead were paying attention. In all three heats of the women's 800, the woman leading 300m into the race qualified for the final.
The only thing good about the NBC coverage was the cameramen....maintaining a close-up of Lyle's pre-race dance and chasing the sprinters as they run off of the track or do their post-race celebrations. The commentary needs a makeover on the other hand.
I'd say Coleman-Kerley-Bednarek-Lyles with great handoffs would challenge sub-37 and maybe the WR
Great handoffs? Sorry best I can offer is bad handoffs with a strong potential for a dropped baton
I wish USATF could force them into some sort of relay camp as a requirement for them to go. Lol. At the very least, they need some very targeted practice once they're there and constant reminders of "it doesn't matter how fast you are if your exchanges are bad or dropped."
Give it 1-2 more years. All those 3:34 guys in the 1500 and 13:0x guys in the 5k are gonna realize this and the same thing is gonna happen to the SC like what is happening in the mens 400 right now.
I was surprised when George Beamish switched to steeple and had immediate success more athletes didn't decide to give it a shot. i think it's a pride thing.
