The thing is, this was their goal. Ever since they lost in a tiebreaker last year
2 men down with just a few yards to go. The women had far less drama.
Between DI and DIII, in the last few minutes I've seen 4 or 5 guys collapse and crawl (or not make it) across the finish line. Crazy.

Despite living 30 minutes from Ames I didn’t even consider putting Iowa State in my top 10. I guess 4th place in your conference is deceptively good when your conference puts 4 in the top 7 at Nats.
