Damn nobody cared about 400m in here. Hope Talitha Diggs can take it to another level next year, feel like she would've medaled if she came in with that SEC indoors fitness.
Jakob mentions in Norweigan media that he has a possible cold.
Ppl on here are jealous and wanna see others fail. Jakob is a big personality and talks a big game - this is all good for our sport. He lost todays. No need for the pile on
No, he's arrogant and disrespects his competitors; if you're going to do that, you better the hell be able to back it up. If he acted like Josh Kerr I can assure you myself and probably most, if not all, others are not going to be reveling in his comeuppance the way we are today.
Yeah 5th in the world championship final splitting 53.6 for the last lap of a 3:30.25 SUCKS.
not to mention done under humid weather.
Guess we all got spoiled by all the sub 3:30 performances these few years, just like we no longer feel anything about a 2:05 in the marathon(unless on NYC) lol
Jakob dismisses the idea of practicing un-paced races, yet in his only un-paced race with serious competition last year he was trashed by a runner with a slower PR. All the 1500s he ran on the track in 2022 were personally paced DL races, and a slow win at European champs. The LetsRun question was smart: "Should you practice racing unpaced events?"
Was this what you said? I don't understand what is so astute about this? It's pretty easy to pick the field vs. one runner.
Ummmm... People were saying that Rojo's question was bad. It turns out to have been very, very good.
I've always found the prospect of going back down to a lower height to decide the winner to be odd. If their score cards are even at this point in the competition, I'm 100% fine with them sharing the gold.
I'm OK with it too, and I would split the title myself, but the posters here are (largely) on the record that sharing the title is for TOTAL LOSERS!
But as a poster replied above, I think these women will be treated very differently.
i don't think i blame the athletes. there is a lot to lose. it just shouldn't be an option.

Its incredible how someone with a little bit if personality makes you guys clutch your pearls.
You’re talking about an Olympic gold medalist (who owns the OR) and a two time WC silver medalist in the 1500. No one from the past has much better credentials you jagaloon, he knows how to race.
Um, he just lost a runner with a slower PR. This has happened at the ONLY TWO 1500 RACES that counted in 2022 and 2023.
Nothing there suggests he knows how to race.
2021 doesn’t count or you just don’t want to bring that up because it ruins your argument? I’d contend Olympics count way more than World Championships as well and I think we are seeing athletes express that now. The 1500 is a crapshoot, JI has had about as high level of sustained excellence in the discipline as any of the all time greats.
