Bit coin up 18% when I dumped most of it this AM.
Ended the day up 8%.

But if I can do a little bit of reflecting, as us boomers are want to do, taking the loss was perfect move since i took the capital remaining and put it into the market at a perfect time to ride it back up. Good move there.
I don't trust bitcoin.
You must have bought it at precisely the wrong time then as it peaked and crashed quickly at the end of 2017.
Losing money is never a good move (other than tax planning sometimes)

Igy - the Nasdaq having best year since 2009. Did your clients miss out on that?
Zillow says my house value is up 10% in the last 30 days. How much is the Nasdaq up in the last 30 days?
I do recall the Nasdaq doubling from summer 1999 to spring of 2000, then dropping 83% by fall 2002. Also, it did not reach a new sustainable high until the spring of 2016.
Now what was your question?

That nagging energy cost attributable to bitcoin mining rearing its ugly head again.... Imagine that. And from our old friend John Hussman nonethelss.
Seattle, you need to chill with your criticism of me. My signature fund has had a robust year and is now down less than 40% from inception (not including my fees). Listen to Igy.

Okay, maybe i do get carried away. Maybe i just care too much.
But you might want to talk to Igy who uses your homegrown market analysis interchangably with that ZeroHedge commie crap. That's not right. There's homegrown wrong and then there's imported wrong, and we can't be overlooking the differences.
And btw, since you mentioned fees, they look a tad on the high side if you ask me (though you probably weren't).

You got that right. Igy and I are both card carrying Trumpkins and we know what he will do for the economy during his second term. Let’s just keep those Ruskies where they belong. DJT does not need their help anymore.
Also, if you think my fees are too high, you can just do what Igy did and not buy the fund. (At least that’s why I think he didn’t buy it. After all, he has repeatedly expressed his love for us.)

Did you also say it wouldn't do any better than the SNP 500 index fund, which coincidentally has a boat load less of a fee?

It’s funny how Hussman states about speculative psychology and doesn’t understand that the entire market is just based on human psychology that just creates continuous cycles of booms and busts, booms and busts, but overall, maker trends up so best to be in it all the time and just good to reallocate accordingly.
From visiting this thread, Reddit, and just my network of people I know, it’s just that most people are terrible at investing. They fall right into the trap of getting played by the market psychology and do the opposite of what they should do. Check out the performance of regular posters here. It’s just so awful how bad most people are. It’s sad that no ones beating Flagpole and he just buys and holds.
There’s huge correlation of people who post the most here are having the worst performance.
I’m glad guys like PRD stopped posting here that much. He’s probably doing much better not getting sucked into reading bunch of posts by regulars here who are just the worst investors. I mean the OP Klondike or K5 is one of the worst market timers. I wonder if he’s the same poster as the Unkle. I wouldn’t be surprised.

That was genius, huh? Most people won’t get it. Of course, that’s the whole point!

Actual annual fee versus one of your favs 0.90% versus 1.12%.
Where’s the On Snap Troll when you need him?

And not to be outdone in the contest to be the bigger big brother, Google continues in its effort to buy FItbit. Saw news today about Google making concessions to EU regulators concerning not collecting data via the fitness tracker that it could otherwise use in obvious profitable ways.
None of those devices have any appeal to me.

WHat you are failing to mention is that 0.90% annual fee is for the advantage of triple leveraging. That don't come cheap, and is standard for all leveraged funds of that magnitude. Believe me. I've checked.

Igy
Wrong. WRong. Wrong.
Igy made that post on 10/11/18. And on that day, he clearly says "Most will lose money from here on TNA."
Clear enough?
Well from that date 10/11/18:
TNA +9.77%
HSGFX -11.77%
So Igy loses. Longs win. Long live the Bull. All hail the bull market!
