I only want a women coach to respond to this post. Did you get a position knowing you didn’t have the same experience as your male competitors? And why are women getting hired so easily. I honestly want to know
I am a female coach and there have been times that I was afraid I got positions because of my gender and because that is the go to on here. The first time I was hired in one of those roles I do think it had something to do with it but I also knew someone that knew the right person. I spent my whole first year and probably the duration of my time there trying to prove I deserved the chance I got. It is kind of sad really because it probably would have much more enjoyable if I didn’t feel like everyone was waiting for me to fail. Nonetheless, I had success and moved on to a better position. Once again it was assumed I got the job because I was a female. I spent about a month concerned about what other people thought and then said F it. I wouldn’t be here if I just tried to play the femal card. Maybe once upon a time I got a position over someone more qualified but at the end of the day I worked my a** off to prove I deserved it. It happens in all professions and not just to women. Men get jobs all the time over qualified women because people stereotype women. What ever position you get work your a** off to keep moving up and if you don’t get one reevaluate what you are doing. If people are concerned about things being fair I feel bad for them, they are obviously Sheltered. Life is not fair, make the most of every opportunity you get or pay the price. If you are not getting opportunities than you are doing something wrong. Look inside yourself instead of blaming other people.
Hi Haveman! Missing you at Dayton (not really).
