Fee-for-service industries are at the root of many of the most unsustainable industries (health care, law, academia, etc.).

So our health care ("insurance") system is based on two of the most inefficient system models you could even come up with. This dumbed-down "giant pool" idea shows a complete lack of understanding of basic economics. You think it will control costs?! Are you mad?! There's literally no incentive for anyone in the system to reduce costs! To make things even worse, nearly every provision of the ACA intentionally increased demand for health care (if you've stepped foot in a basic economics class, you'd know that increasing demand for something will only increase costs). You were sold a bill of goods that was a complete lie. The insurance industry made out like bandits and Obama lied to your face so he could expand coverage the easiest (laziest) way possible.

So to your examples, where the "giant pool" is a component of the actuarial formulas to determine pricing-

Auto insurance is solely for damage to the vehicle and personal injury. Does it cover general repairs for wear parts (tires, brakes, tie-rods, etc)? Nope. Can you get a rack or hitch installed? No, no you can't. You pay out of pocket for everything car related that is not an accident/damage. This are the equivalent to going to the doctor for a checkup, or maybe a common cold or flu. Who pays for those visits to the doctor though? You? Nope- Who knows?! Who cares- I hardly see any of the bill! Yay health insurance!

Does Contractor Liability insurance cover the tools they need to get the job done? What about extra materials that they didn't originally plan for? Nope and nope.

Again, the insurance in these industries are rooted in actuarial formulas that cover major accidents. The costs are actually pretty controllable, and the insurance market is very competitive. Health insurance is NOT.

This wall is to appease Trumps base—pure and simple. If it were a serious attempt to address National Security the Trump and his supporters would also insist on a Northern Border Wall. To be clear—this is a political move to satisfy the many, many racists in Trump’s base who are only calling for a southern border wall because most of the people coming across are the “wrong” color—i.e. brown.

The flimsy link to Trump at all is now some hush money paid to a couple women that were threatening Trump with public humiliation unless they received some cash. Any honest, reasonable adult knows this is nothing, is not illegal, and if it weren’t for the fact that the Russian Collusion Hoax has produced nothing, wouldn’t get any air time at all.

Rosenstein has still been mum since Trump ordered the de-classification of all redacted documents related to the Russian Collusion Hoax. Amazing that despite Trump making that request, it hasn’t happened. Hmmm- wonder what they’re so desperate to hide?

Soon-to-be Attorney General Barr’s memo from June regarding the Special Counsel investigation was incredibly on point and refreshing. In the months since, his position has been proven entirely correct. A prosecutor does not simply get to subpoena the POTUS because they think it could be interesting. They should be able to show 1) a serious crime of which the president is clearly implicated or 2) existence of actual evidence or testimony that only the president can provide. This goes back to the most basic fact that TDS world has inexcusably been ignoring: crimes are investigated, not people.

Then Trump orders something that both the Far Left and a portion of the Right (Libertarians) would agree on: bringing our troops home from Syria (and Afghanistan). ISIS has literally lost 99% of the area it once controlled (80% of which has been achieved in the last 2 years under Trump). That was Trump’s stated goal from day one. But guess what? The Far Left now loves war/occupations! I never thought I’d see MSNBC arguing for troops to stay abroad without a direct threat to US national security, but there it was. The Neo-Cons of course, lost their mind. Ron and Rand Paul, however, publicly praised the move. From discussions with real people in my daily life, most are fine with bringing the troops home. So chalk this up to another fake, manufactured crisis perpetrated by the establishment.

HUGE development on the US-Mexican border front. The new Mexican president- who of course is referred to as “populist” because he doesn’t support all his people fleeing to the US- has proposed a “free zone” in the northern regions of Mexico to incentivize people to stay in Mexico. MIND BLOWN, right? The free zone incentives strive to attract investment and reduce migration to the US. Finally, the leader of a country is attempting to take action to improve the lives of his citizens so they don’t have to flee their home country.
