Idaho is experiencing a dramatic rise in cases 1,200/day with deaths 6-12/day. Boise has a mask mandate, and by observation compliance appears to be high. Rural areas, and institutions (schools, prisons, care facilities and churches) have been centers of outbreak. The desire for independence is strong here, and certainly there is an anti-masker element. This seems small in the populous areas, may be more of an issue in rural areas. Twin Falls where there is dairy and other centers of agriculture has a major hospital at capacity.

I don't think I've ever seen the levels of covid in North Dakota.
It's now the 10th worst state per capita deaths. It is moving up the list quickly.
It has by far the most cases per million
Health care workers with covid are asked to keep working because hospitals are at 100% capacity
Positivity rates are around 25%.
Highest new cases per 100k residents I've ever seen.
Remember the conventional wisdom early on was that rural states would not be hit as hard.
You tell people to wear masks and they won't...because they need to prove they aren't sheep.

I don't wanna say this recession was "good," but honestly it blew out a lot of hangers on that should have shuttered doors a while ago.
Also it will be interesting to see how malls and commercial REITs do over the next few months. I think it'd be great and maybe pretty profitable if someone bought a eyesore mall, tore it down, and turned it into a fun outdoor green space for mountain biking, climbing, and etc.

Our daughter just emailed me that jury trials in Idaho have been suspended until January 4, 2021. Parties are encouraged to pursue arbitration when appropriate.

Good point. We are told the death rates are high in the cities due to high population density.
Seems that is now thrown out the window.
