. He's probably one like RTJ and Cole that is probably overdoing it a little, on his last video he ran a hard hill session in the morning and a threshold session in the afternoon, not sure what he expected!
It also means you can't use the time to qualify for any other big races. Plenty of non sub-elites would look to use a sub 71:30 or sub 86:00 as a pathway to the London marathon.
How does this work next year? London Champ entry is fastest 500 men and fastest 500 women under the qualifying times. But how will they match up the HM v M qualifying times to work out whose in the fastest 500?

Nobody knows right now, apparently including LME. I've seen an email from them saying they dont want to reveal the conversion so people don't "game the system" by submitting a time that's more likely to get them in, if you have both HM and full qualifying times. Which is utterly nonsensical.
If they don't see a 71:29 as faster than a 2:37:59 however then thre's something very wrong.

They’ll have to be careful otherwise you’ll have to run a sub 2:32 marathon to get an entry as the majority will be half marathon entry times.

Not convinced, there's a lot of overlap between fast HM and fast marathon runners. You've also got fast HM runners who can't be bothered with a marathon.
There were about 1300 champs start runners this year, so the field isn't going to be massively culled in 2026 but it will hurt men more than women due to the higher ratio of men/women in the start.
Is Jake (ran to Japan) ok? My friends sister died from a small cut that got infected. It’s no joke how quickly that can go sideways once the infection starts to spread. That the infection is coming back after a couple of days of intravenous antibiotics is not good.
I felt exceedingly uncomfortable watching his latest video. I really hope he is ok as his seemingly laissez-faire attitude to it all was putting a knot in my stomach (e.g. attempting a shake out run when his infection had spread in lumps to his lymph node and causing intense armpit pain and numbness). I seriously hope he takes a decent break and puts his Gold Coast marathon on the back burner.
Moreover, whoever discharged him from the hospital and gave him oral antibiotics needs to be fired.
He should have had the cut drained and been on intravenous medicine immediately.

I spotted that a content creator (@irossman) was 13th on the results at the weekend - see Ross Moldavsky (12503). I thought 1:11:23 was strange as it would be a huge PB (he’s a 2:49 marathoner) and there was nothing on strava/his socials.
Looked at the race photos and sure enough it’s not him, but someone with Rhys written on their bib.
Convenient that the time is 7 seconds under LM championship standard. I wonder what the chances are that it’s a case of bib muling without realising it’s not even a UKA certified course?
The man who ran with that bib is Rhys Doherty. Not a "runfluencer" himself, but good friends with a lot of the London-based lot. He was only a few seconds behind Gabriel Smith.
There are many legitimate things to get wound up about regarding YouTubers and influencers but making comments like this about someone's appearance etc. is very sad and depressing to read.
Agree with the poster above that you should try to seek counselling or figure out exactly what it is that's made you leave such a bizarre comment
Continuing the new feature on this sub which I will sporadically post over the next few weeks/months. Lots of big match ups of 32 (or maybe 16 if I can’t think of 32) ‘influencers’.
*****Earlier matches on previous pages. Will collate the first round results when all matches played to see who has made the next round (so still time to vote) ******
Culminating in the crowning of our favourite YouTuber. We like to mock and laugh at many on here but who do we actually like? Who escapes our ire and gets to be crowned champion.
Vote either up or down depending on your choice.
Round 1 - match 8/16.
