In a Tuesday night email, the Office of Personnel Management told federal workers that they have until Feb. 6 to decide how to proceed. If they step down, they will continue to receive all pay and benefits and will be exempt from in-person work requirements until Sept. 30.

Yes, this is correct. But notice that employees are only exempt from the return to work policy. So they will likely be required to work from home with the agreement that they will leave September 30, 2025. Also, the government is only funded through March 20, so there is no guarantee that employees who elect to resign by February will actually get paid after March. They will have to trust that the Administration pays them

In Australia we have visas for commonwealth countries' citizens to come here and pick fruit, make some money, have a good time, they spend all the money here anyway. Why would a British guy go pick fruit in USA?
Pay your workers more and you have no need for illegal domestics, fruit pickers etc
But damned if you do, because you can already not compete with other manufacturing countries, both on a price and quality level.
In recent decades, the US gave up on a lot of manufacturing and leveraged its success in computers and scientific research.
I'm not sure yet how much Trump is going to damage the US strength in science, with his vendetta against gays and trans and diversity and whatever other nutty things he is obsessed with (that, to be honest, most of us normal people just don't care about).

When anyone in the medical profession gives false information to a patient they can be held legally liable.
When RFK jr gives false information to Americans and cause thousands to die, he is not legally liable. He can say whatever he wants.
