2012 Coaching Openings

yep you missed it...they are adding the points, but only for UNC. My point was that UNC made a huge commitment toward the distance program over the last few years and from what I hear in Chapel Hill, that commitment will change drastically if this hire happens. If you're a non distance guy, then I guess its a good thing.

I'm sure they've overscholarshipped some people over the last three years to bring in flotrack "top recruiting classes". You can still support full distance programs at a school like north carolina without investing a more that 5 scholarships.

You have to be able to get those non distance guys admitted to school first... Might be a problem at a place like UNC? It would appear so

I heard Johnson turned UNC down.

Jumps coach wanted the head Marietta job, Marietta went with a D1 coach for the job, they didn't see eye to eye, so he quit.

Who is leaving?

Why would they have any openings at the University of Oklahoma?The head coach truly cares for his assistant coachesand is very concerned about their personal well being and their families. He also has a great personality.. Has a very low turn over rate of staff due to his great people skills.

Get over that grudge you hold against martin smith. The guy can coach. Most of his assistants leave for better pay or higher jobs.

Just saw this tweet from UVA's Brett Johnson:

"This is now my second drive home finding out my coaches were getting fired .... Not happy at all right now"

Anyone know what this is about?

Seem ironic that Huffins would land a job at Purdue, who has a very good academic reputation, after having a job at Cal, another academic titan, when for the longest time he didn't have a degree himself and some question if he has one even now! Maybe collegiate head coaches in all sports should have to take the SAT or ACT prior to getting a job, and if they can't make NCAA academic standards for a student, they can't be a head coach! Now THAT would be funny!
