21.8 in training is nothing special, you say. In Marco Arop's greatest ever workout, he does 500/200, 400/200, 300/200, with 8-10 min between sets and a 100 walk between intervals. His 200s are in the 23-25 range, 48.3 on the 400. Arop is a multiple 1:41 guy. Lutkenhaus at 17 is getting so accustomed to running 24s and 25s in practice that he can finish a workout with a sub-22. Do you not realize that this is the single most talented teen 800m runner ever by far?
Thanks for chasing him off. He’s now off to other threads bringing up Trump for no reason and hating on Hedengren. When he’s not yelling at clouds that is.
"Bringing up Trump for no reason"? The guy that just threatened to destroy a foreign nation that he is at war with? You don't appear to know there are bigger issues out there than running. But on the subject of runners, having a different view on their potential from some of their fans isn't "hatred".
Disingenuous grandstanding. If Bibi or Xi made remarks like that you’d do cartwheels in joy. The point is you bring up Trump for no reason. Always. You are a disingenuous grandstander, looking for approval fromother Trump haters. You hate the US, you hate Cooper and Jane becuase they are American, and evn worse, because they are young.

Your last sentence may be correct but his training isn't proof of that - his racing is.
You can't compare Arop running a series of reps of 200 at 23-25 (he obviously wasn't flat-out) because the flying 21.8 that Lutkenhaus ran wasn't part of a series of reps at that distance.
I don't doubt Lutkenhaus's credentials over the 800; what I haven't seen is an equivalent potential over any other distance - whether it is the 400 or the 1500. To run sub-45 he would need to be in the region of 21-flat for the 200 - nothing we've seen from him is near that - and to compete over the 1500 he would need to show 3:30 capability. Nope.
But none of that matters if he can match Rudisha and Kipketer over his specialty distance.

Cooper winning the indoor WC title really set you off. It’s patently obvious you hate him for being American and are insanely jealous because he is so young and so good. You no doubt pray daily for him to fail.

You jinxed the thread LOL. Everyone knows OCD Armstronglivs constantly runs searches to see if he’s been mentioned, then he swoops and then must, always, has to, provide one his usual bitter bitter missives. Along with a serving of Trump hate, just like his masters on the telly tell him to have. Yes, it is true he hates young athletes, meaning teen standouts, especially Americans, but he does exhibit innate dislike for teens in general, like Sam Ruthe for instance.

The desperation and cluelessness is hilarious. Cooper is supremely talented. And as you just demonstrated in the Myers thread, and in this one, you seethe with jealousy over the performances of highly talented youngsters. When people point this out you run to the mods screaming like a banshee. Hypocrite.
Cooper defintely has WR potential at 800m based on what he has done so far at age 17. His coach, who up to this point has shown great judgment and insight, feels Cooper will be capable of dipping under 45 in the 400m. I’ll go along with that.

You could have said everything on the thread topic you needed with the last paragraph. The personal attack in the first paragraph is irrelevant.
The fundamental difference I take with your view about what he is capable of over 400 is there is nothing beyond his coach's prediction supporting it. No actual times - and far from what he has so far run over 200 and 400. If fulfilled it would mean an improvement in his pr in a sprint distance of 1.5 secs. That is a massive jump over 400m. In the same event, and from the same age, another prodigy, Quincy Wilson, has only made a tenth of a second improvement since he was 16. It is a more likely indication of how hard it will be for Lutkenhaus to make a significant improvement over 400.
