University of Arizona Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Fred Harvey announced today that he will retire as head coach at the end of the 2025 outdoor season.
And so begins the coaching carousel for the summer
When will jobs start opening up?
Well it won't start until they hire for this one. I'd expect things to heat up after nationals. Could be a lot of programs looking to go different directions after the house settlement stuff.
Retiring, or more likely received a carefully-worded letter on his desk from the Athletic Director letting him know that decision has already been made for him.
Either way, if they make Lagat the head coach it is going to be an embarrassment after the way he’s handled the XC team.
Anyone heard something on the Arkansas womens Distance/XC position?
After the previous one left after a few months and Harter briefly returned, the coaching staff on the website only contains the HC (sprints coach) and a AC/DoO (which used to be a sprinter).

Butler CC has a position opening up, asst xc/track. Throws/Jumps/Multi preferred. Starting is 46k
Someone will take that job and be very happy, and I know this topic has been mentioned so much in these threads….but still, 46k starting salary? Rough.
