(The Center Square) – The California State Assembly this week voted to revise the state’s penal code that regulates the registration of sex offenders by passing SB-145. The revision of
You call it a conspiracy while Democratic politicians literally pass laws to destigmatize it and nominate supreme court justices who don't think it's a problem...
It is happening. You being unaware of it doesn't mean it isn't happening.
Pedophiles like pre-pubescent children.
If you want to play the semantic game someone attracted to a child that's sexually developed is an ephebophile. Bill Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein were hebephiles.
Bro. Please. I’m begging you. No need to fully own yourself.
you forgot the you forgot the left’s golden rule: tolerate everyone except for those who disagree with you.
I still want a lefty to explain why books that try and use race and emotion to teach math should be allowed
I haven’t been on letsrun for several days and I don’t have the time to read all the posts I missed. Maybe you can help me. Has anyone found an actual math textbook in Florida that teaches CRT? If so, please point it out for me.

Florida education officials released 4 examples of things found in books that they didn't want to be in the classroom. 2 were based on Socio-Emotional Learning and 2 mentioned racial bias (and it seemed likely that the two SEL examples were from the same book, and the two racial bias examples were from the same book, so it was really only examples from 2 of the books that were rejected). No actual examples of CRT, but to be fair to Florida they did say that only something like 20% of the books they rejected were due to CRT.

Everything the left liberals touches turns to crap. I won't be have any part of it. All these liberal run cities are collapsing. Look at Portland and Seattle, crapholes.
Rejected textbooks have no CRT. This is just dumb virtue signaling from the right. Pretend like they are waging war in some insidious enemy… but really just taking issue with a some math textbooks that tell kids to try hard (which doesn’t really help). It never mattered the actual content of the books, just that they could claim it was fighting to terrifying CRT boogeyman. And of course dozens of posters in this thread fell for it and went into a frenzy of righteous rage (“taking our country back!!”).
4/ So far, I am wrong! This controversy is even dumber than I anticipated. I think 'mindset' research is a bit bleh evidence-wise, and grit even more so (whole chapter in my book), but holy hell is this mild and no reason to reject a textbook.https://t.co/DuJjjm2yYR

So it’s not bad to wrongly teach children that conservatives are racist under the guise of math education?
How is showing statistics teaching that conservatives are racists?

You continue to be disingenuous, Gart2004.
I assume you are referring to the math questions regarding the "Implicit Association Test" which claims to "measure levels of racial prejudice" and also claims to have found conservatives are more racists than others. Obviously, such a test is subjective (its also compiled online by people who volunteer to take the test) and depends a lot on the drafting of the questions and highly subjective standards of what is considered a racial bias. But even if you could assume the Implicit Association Test data was somehow correct or meaningful, why use that data, out of all the different types of data humans accumulate, on a math test if you weren't trying to persuade children the highly disputed point that conservatives are more racists than non-conservatives.
Those questions have no business being on what appears to be a high school algebra test. Think about if similar, and far more measurable, accurate and scientific data regarding crime rates of black people (13% of the population commits 40% of serious violent crimes) were used for questions on the test. I would consider that to be inappropriate as unnecessarily casting black people in a bad light under the guise of testing children on algebra. I would expect there to be quite a lot of uproar if that were the data set for the questions, and that the disingenuous "hey, we're just showing statistics" argument would deservedly fail.

Logic no matter how sound does not work on the diseased liberal mind.
