I’m fine with stocks going up or down. Hope it goes down so I can buy more. I hate it on the up days bc I can’t buy anything.
You're a genius. Love losing money on the stocks you hold so you can buy more
Maybe bc you think you can time the market is the reason why you haven’t made much money in the stock market.
This guy who “loves losing money” is doing quite well.
See, here’s the reason why I don’t mind the market going down. I believe in the long run, the equity that I’ve purchased will go up. However, in the short term, I cannot predict. So, do you know what I do? I use this thing called asset allocation between equity and bonds. When equity goes down, I rebalance it by moving my bonds to equity. If equity goes up, I rebalance it and buy bonds.
I think you criticized about asset allocation in the past so I hope you really understand it this time.
I tend to avoid in buying things that I think will have long term downward trend. For example, I’m not in energy sector. I think in short term, it could go up bc they’ve been hammered so much. However, in the long term, I don’t really see it going up in the next 5-10 years. I think it will be more of sideways with slight downward trend in long term.
