According to this article (April 12, 2016) in Business Insider, until April 2014, Rob Young was a recreational runner who occasionally ran a 5K but nothing farther. At that time after his gf/partner teased him about running a marathon, Rob got up at 3:30am the next morning (presumably Monday 14 April 2014) and ran a marathon before work. He felt so good he ran another 26.2 miles after work the same day. And within that week, he had run 262 miles or 10 marathons.

This guy sounds like a British version of Jerry Lindgren, except Lindgren actually ran some great fast races that are well documented, but Lindgren sure told some whoppers about his training.

I know I'm very late to the party here, only just begun to look at this thread properly so I'm sure this particular article has been well scrutinised already but even so ... what a huge, steaming pile of sh*t that is. It's the most ludicrous, improbable and quite frankly embarrassing article I've seen in a long time. We're honestly supposed to believe that he just one day decided to get up at 3am and run a marathon before work, and that he enjoyed it so much that he did it after work that same day too? Unless the writer of the article has taken HUGE liberties here, then this alone tells me 100% that he's a dishonest man.

And look at him ... I know we all have different morphologies and metabolisms etc, but someone who supposedly averaged around 180 miles a week for the whole of last year does not carry that kind of bulk and lack of condition. As a brit myself, I'd normally be happy to see one of compatriots achieve something like this, but this is just pathetic

Likewise, him wearing a kilt just because some kids want him to is also only something one would do of a more simple mindset. Is his simple nature being taken advantage of here? Does Rob actually belive he is really running the full distance and is being convinced of such by his so called 'buddies'?

The pics on FB also look very strange indeed and a little unsettling to look at especially in light of the truth.

If Rob is your friend, I would encourage you to reach out to him. Of course this is not a diagnosis but something is seriosuly amiss here and brings in to question his mental state. Some naturally will say this is throwing Rob an easy excuse.

Around 20 Miles left to downtown Indianapolis. If he wants to put in the required mileage for today he would have walk that miles before his mid-day break.

The LetsRun article about Mike Rossi lead to a huge amount of attention for that case.

Maybe RoJo can offer some money to Robert, just like he did for Mike.

Don't expect he'll finish at all - if Laz thinks he's in a 'death-spiral' I'll take his word for it.

I think he'll need more than a sausage roll and an espresso to recover this time.

Just hope he doesn't end up in hospital - he can thank his friends in the RV if he does.
