Before Trump 2.0, the United States Department of Justice was globally recognized as the premier law enforcement body. It was always considered above the fray of politics. The DOJ policies are strictly written to ensure that justice is always served and no person can be charged for wrong reasons. In fact, the DOJ used to have a conviction rate well above 90% because they will never bring a case unless they are sure they have proof beyond a reasonable doubt in front of a jury. They used to take great pride in this. And they have vast resources that State AG and local do not.
Trump has fired or dismissed over 5,000 career DOJ employees and the vast wealth of experience and expertise is gone. Trump now views the DOJ as is own law office. He even says so regularly. There are reports that Eagle Ed Martin is now in charge over Bondi.
It is entirely unheard of that they would not be able to get a simple indictment from a grand jury but now it has happened many times as they go after fake political cases.
What a shame and a sad day for America.
