The Schumer Shutdown. We have l 53 GOP yes votes but we need 60 votes to reopen the government. C'mon dems, this your fault.
Thanks. We didn't read the book, of course, but we're once again reminded that Trump's opus must have been elegantly and stunningly brief. Something like:
"In negotiations, when the people on the other side of the table don't agree with you, leave the room and don't talk to them. Until they come looking for you, begging to make a deal favorable to you, claim "VICTORY !!!" in the negotiations.
We have 53 GOP yes votes but we need 60 votes to reopen the government. C'mon dems, this your fault.
You’re so gullible, Gary.
There is no mechanism for illegal immigrants to obtain government financed health care, apart from emergency medical treatment at an ER, as signed into law by Ronald Reagan.
trump is breaking the law left and right. You can't vote to allow someone to break the law and the Constitution. Doesn't work that way in a nation of laws. You don't get to murder people and refuse due process because you won an election.
and anyway, trump is underwater in polling on every issue, including immigration. It's better said that voters thought Trump would use common sense and not be this crazy.
You can say what you want. You can even make the argument that we have a better understanding of his policies now than we did then. I agree. It's how policy works. It doesn't change the fact that Trump was very clear about what he was going to do, and that he was elected subsequently to sharing his vision for this country.
No one here is making the argument that Trump is above the law or can do whatever he wants (well...almost no one: his critics use the a neat counteractual on both points to call him a "king," "authortarian," etc.). He was democratically elected.
He can be democratically removed. His policies can be challenged in a court of law, which they have been and which they absolutely should be. Most important, it's part of our national fabric to hate the President past the point of hyperbole. It doesn't make those claims true, however. And that matters.
I've debated for a few moments how to reply. But I don't want to spend too much time with it. I'll boil it down to this: Trump IS an authoritarian. 99.999% sure that's his heart. ONE-HUNDRED percent sure that he's spoken like an authoritarian and taken clear-cut authoritarian actions dozens upon dozens of times since January. The "claims" about his authoritarian behavior are 100% accurate. It's not about "fabric" or "hyperbole" or anything else.

Wrong. He's a patriot.
This is a pivotal moment. Dems are lost and weak. We need strength.

Sorry, two other things regarding the bolded part in your original post, above:
1) Last year, a bunch of really well-educated lawyers on SCOTUS did, in fact, decide that Trump (and all other presidents....for now) are above the law.
2) Trump is, in fact, doing pretty much whatever he wants. The GOP Congress is not lifting a finger to stop that, and his approval rating amongst Republicans is somewhere around 90% last I knew. So, not only are roughly half of the people on this thread OK with him doing whatever he wants, so is basically the entire Republican party.

Says the guy who agrees with himself using other handles. You're every bit as transparent and pathetic as your Orange God.
Miller doesn’t lie and Pritzker is a felon running an insurrection against the Federal Government and hurting his people while doing it. He’s a fat *sshole, and will be going down in due time. Mark my words.
ALL of the other horrible adjectives that he proves apply to him every day, and yet the very simple "Dumb" is never, ever very far away. A missile with a warhead is "very violent." A person with any intelligence would NEVER say this.
Hey, you guys think that guns shoot by themselves.

Both miller and pritzker are jews.
Who cares? Smith n Wesson run this country, not fat Jews. or smart ones.
