Who has the 63.5 day record? Which course was it; SF to NYC? Why wouldn't it be the Guinness thing?

The point I made is still valid. Both ladies are still ahead of of pace.

Another way to look at your 63.5 day record, and assuming 3100 miles, is that 50 miles per day could be averaged, and two entire days could be missed, and the record is broken.

Mimi is still running along. It would be better if she was using the data tracking method Pete K used, that he helped Sandy set up. The instant uploading of data is really the minimum any runner attempting a multi-day record should be done.

Marcus, do you know if Pete K came up with the method? multiple GPS Garmins, plus Strava uploading, plus photos, plus please join me during the run? It is an excellent method.

Lorna Richey Michael ran it in 64 stages at the Trans Am race in 1993.

If I am not mistaken, that was even mentioned on Sandy's website.

Lorna Richey Michael was the first female who finished a Trans America race.

So, by taking the SF to NYC route Sandy added at least three extra days of running. I thought I saw a 68 day record claim; maybe that was for the longer route.

How hard would it be for Mimi to fake the Strava data? Would we be able to tell? Remember we already know she is associated with that other fraud runner.

The whole route thing is silly anyway, since everybody had a different route anyway even if they ran SF - NYC.

There is no such thing as a record route across the country.

In my book the person with the highest daily average hold the record since routes are changing all the time.

Guinness "invented" that Town Hall to Town Hall rule in the mid seventies a long time after runners went for the Trans con record. Most people ran from Coast to Coast or from Coast to New York City.

There is not just one starting and finishing place.

The only way is to try to fake Strava data yourself during a long run. Pacing would be the hardest thing to fake properly. That is why a lot of photos along the way should be done, and people just showing up as a surprise should be necessary.

Yes indeed. She sends the data to me and I make it look right.

I fully agree with your suggestion. That would also allow for a runner to switch to less dangerous road rather than stay on a short speedway filled with psycho drivers.

Are you saying that one of the runners is only supplying Strava data, and that data can be readily modified.? Is it a simple text (spreadsheet) file? (Of course, team members would need to be in on such a fraud.)

With the caveat that there is a more rigorous method of proof. Garmin data cross-referenced with Strava data is probably much better than Strava data alone.
