Anybody following him in a car or bicycle? Boots on the ground?

He sure is using that 3:12 marathon ability to good use! I'm totally convinced he didn't lie about that or cheated on it!

His son George is on a bike, Joe is driving the van and Mark the togger is on a bike as well
Must be really painful to ride a bike at 4 mph for hours on end. I bet they got in the van after the first few hours or are just walking. The bikes would just slow them down when all Dave is doing is walking pace.
Before Terrie deletes this Facebook post:
Richard Fish Point of interest: I would be jolly interested to learn of people " hateing " any record attempt. I have seen many raised eyebrows over the people talking of " breaking " or indeed " smashing" the record. It's basically open to all comers ... it does however stand at such a level of achievement that the expectation is that it will only really be beaten is really aimed at someone regularly running sub 2:30 Marathons every single week for fun along side sub 16 hr 100 mile runs every couple of months) But no one hates the idea of it being broken to my knowledge. What may have been missed here is that the declaration of intent to break the record comes on the back of two recent fraudulent multi day ultra runs. One of which was A lEJOG ....That basically harmed the reputation of the sport and indeed the idea of running LEJOG at all. I as I am sure any one with half an interest in running a long way wish you nothing but luck in your endeavour. I also applauded your statement that it is in fact an activity that is all about your nominate charity. I do remain slightly confused as to why the record attempt is now "off" and blame for this is apportioned elsewhere. It's a shame that it has been worded this way. But again, a wonderful endeavour and the very best of luck with it.

He's currently at 37 miles in 10h:40m. I suspect he'll struggle to go much beyond 50 miles today. In the UK the sun sets around 8PM this time of year and I can't imagine him running for too long in the dark.
Would be great to see some video and / or photographic evidence of todays 'run'...if he want's to borrow a GPS / Cadence enabled Garmin I'll happily donate my Fenix 3 to him for the journey.
TODAY +/-39 Mi in 11 h 9 m
That would make 78 miles in 22 hours and 18 minutes. Looks like he is on the right track. :-) LOL
Is anyone familiar with how his Follow My Challenge GPS works? When I zoom in on the map it looks like he's taking straight lines from point to point rather than following the road. It's particularly obvious at the beginning of his route. My Garmin route data shows where I actually run. So this seems strange.
It doesn't sample at a high rate. In the first hour they turned off the GPS for 30 minutes of the "walk' for God knows what reason and hence when you see that big jump.

Thanks, here's the link to the site. So, do you think it's just estimating mileage in a straight line from point to point each time it "Updates every 2.5, 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes."?

Yep, that looks to be what it's doing. All GPS trackers work like that but this tracker samples and transmits at low rates to extend battery life.
I don't think Walking With The Wounded has any integrity or honesty about this whole scam either. They are still fully backing Dave with messages like:

Are you following @2017Lejog progress? (link:

And remember, this is the "charity" that spent donations funding luxury Everest and South Pole expeditions.

Comical, it actually shows what he didn't do for the last 30 min since the last transmission. His GPS and "Live" tracker is just dandy for someone, like Dave, with low credibility...
This is bogus. I'm following something that is bogus.
I actually just went out there to meet up with them. When I got there he was on a break talking to his crew about putting the hammer down and running the next 52 miles at sub 6 pace.
Get ready to be amazed!!!
This is so weird. What to compare it to? The low speed O.J. chase?

I will be surprised if we actually get any video of him running. Every time it seems like he is just standing around. What is that pro photog Mark even doing?
Almost 13 hours in and only 42 miles. This dude is delusional and is coo coo for cocoa puffs.

This^
Only that was real, and better documented.

Neil to make it clear, he ran 4.19 in London 2016, if indeed he did run it, having managed to avoid the mats and cameras all the way the Parliament Square.
Check the results for his name, 4:19 is the time. Check the official photos on his result page, it's definitely him. Check the chip times of the others on his finish photos, 32217 4:05, 45999 4:14, 15871 4:16, 9854 4:15, 57841 4:17.
You are being taken for a fool if you believe he ran 3:12.
Given that he is running with no cadence data and has said he was going for the record, time and time again, and given his proven lie about his athletic ability I think it is fair to assume he would have cheated on this run and justified it to himself as it was a joke record anyway, nothing serious, and he was raising money for a good cause.
In fact he is a fraud, both on his London claim, and on his claims that he would break a record which has gained him resources and good will beyond that he deserves. Unfortunately he does not appear to be running with the tracker next to him, so the data will be fairly poor, and of course now he has abandoned plans to go for the record because people who care about the sport are not credulous idiots. The Facebook pages is now sanitised so he won't be admitting he cheated there, which unfortunately for him and his family means people who are less than polite will probably try to out him, as the liar he is, in other ways.
Well put my friend and don't forget the training session he did in the afternoon after a "30 mile hike in combat gear that morning as part of his military training", many people think that's just special forces type stuff, but no, the Royal Air Force Reserve do a lot of that sort of thing, especially with their 49 year old members.
There are other 'anomalies', but hey, Dave's a good bloke, and it is for charity.
Commercial Break...
https://twitter.com/mattressmanuk/status/849878611402383362
Mattressman is having a sale and Dave appears to be very, uhmm, let's just say..."excited" about it. This keeps getting better.

Dave has gone out WAY TOO FAST for day 1 on this epic journey.
Dave is still at 17:09 average mile pace.
I would easily DESTROY DAVE.
I don't need to sleep at all and I can hike faster than any MAN in the world.
Has Dave ever done anything past 3 days???
The delayed-onset-muscle-soreness (DOMS) which is going to really hit hard on day 3…is going to HURT REALLY BAD!
I know that DAVE IS MILITARY TOUGH…AND HAS PHOTOS WITH PRINCE HARRY…AND EVEN SIR MO FARAH (= MOBOT):

LOOK AT THE PHOTO OF DAVE FORCING ALL THE CHILDREN TO DO THE MOBOT!!!
Please stop it Dave. You are making me really mad.
I also know that Prince Harry goes on the WW Charity Luxury Expeditions to the South Pole and other exciting places.
Does Prince Harry pay his own way on the WW Charity Luxury Expeditions???
… OR...
Does the WW Charity pay for Prince Harry…since he is Royalty???
I was also in the military. I am also military tough…but I am more than just military tough.
I AM KAIHA TOUGH.
