We have no examples of this. The only example given is a 21.8 flying 200, which is a 22.6 time from blocks. Nothing special about that. Running faster reps in training is also a demonstration of improved endurance and not top end speed.
If you simply take what he or his his coach says he will do then Kerr is going to run 3:42 for the mile - because he says he will. Nothing happens in the sport until it is achieved.

It is a comment on how some think about these issues that they personally attack another poster for having an opinion on what a runner may achieve when it is something that hasn't happened and may never happen.
You can discuss anything your heart desires; you don’t need personal experience. It's just more credible when your opinion is centered around either direct, or close second/third party empirical evidence.
If someone says they've run a 2:25 marathon on 100 miles per week, and someone who hasn't ever run a marathon at all is telling them it shouldn't take that much training to reach that result, the opinion is heard, but doesn't carry as much weight.
That's you. You keep quoting Cooper's 21.8 and the end of workout as the fastest he can run kind of shows you've never done that type or workout or had an athlete, but you are commenting as if you know the exact physiology mechanisms.
Cooper's coach has also said he's running his speed work much faster than when he split 45.3r. His opinion carries more weight than your's after watching 20 minute video on youtube.
With Jakob out of the picture with repeated injuries etc., Armstronglivs seems to have transferred a lot of his hate over to Lutkenhaus.
What a funny place this is. I have suggested Lutkenhaus is likely to remain an 800 specialist, comparing him in that regard to those like Rudisha and Kipketer, and not an athlete who will double as Juantorena (400/800) and Coe (800/1500) did - and that is being a "hater".

You should read posts before you comment on them. I have never said 21.8 flying 200 is Lutkenhaus's limit. It clearly isn't as it is worth 22.6 from blocks and he has already run 22.1. But his training time is no indication of whether he could run substantially faster over the 400 - 44-high. We only have the word of his coach that he can and without times showing it that can no more be relied on as a prediction than Kerr saying he can run a 3:42 mile. It won't happen until it has happened.

You can't wait to see how those guys are doing in die summer?
But you are not interested, you said so many times.
Of course I can't wait. I will enjoy seeing your expectations disappointed.
Cooper winning the indoor WC title really set you off. It’s patently obvious you hate him for being American and are insanely jealous because he is so young and so good. You no doubt pray daily for him to fail.

Thanks for chasing him off. He’s now off to other threads bringing up Trump for no reason and hating on Hedengren. When he’s not yelling at clouds that is.

I'm not religious so I don't pray.
So having a different view about an athlete's potential over alternative distances is "insanely jealous" and he is "hated because he is American", and "so young and so good". Ok.
I've expressed similar views about non-American athletes but if it makes you feel better you keep thinking that.

"Bringing up Trump for no reason"? The guy that just threatened to destroy a foreign nation that he is at war with? You don't appear to know there are bigger issues out there than running. But on the subject of runners, having a different view on their potential from some of their fans isn't "hatred".
