I miss the world feed because there's such an annoying amount of glazing from ato. Also with not mentioning Chebet when mentioning the women who had the best championships.
I watched the world feed this afternoon of the latter stages of the Decathlon Pole Vault. Very enjoyable with the world feed commentators. Our Australian possums must have been tired?!🥱
Japan TV hasn't shown a minute of either the heptathlon or decathlon. I think it's because Japan is historically weak in the event. Japan TV is WAY more homerish than US TV is, and yes I know what I just wrote.
Wasn't Bednarek the one who blew the 4 X 100 for the Americans in Paris last year?
Yeah, he left late and Coleman ran up on him. I actually gave Coleman some credit in this one. He refused to throw his teammate under the bus and just took the L. It was obvious on the replay though that Kenny was off.
ya i don't like Hocker. and he proved me way way way way wrong.
Congratulations Cole! I am another one who didn't see this coming, especially under 13.
didn't see that sub-13 coming either. I thought it would the usual 13:00-13:10 race, with him closing in 51. But 12:58 with a 52 close was really something else. Off the top my head, only Lagat closed faster in a sub 13 race (51.94) which was a one-off race with no rounds. Actually that's the only one I can think of with a last lap faster than 53. Not sure if Farah did it before. Of his sub-13 races, Bekele usually closed in 53. Not sure if Farah did it, but he didn't even run a lot of sub-13 race. I did remember he closed a 13:00-13:02 in 52.6 (again, a one off DL race).

I was out there today and I genuinely think Sawe’s performance today is the greatest we’ve ever seen in the marathon.
The conditions were absolutely brutal. Through 10ish K it was OK as the sun was still low enough to provide shade cover, but there wasn’t much hiding after that. I could not believe my eyes when I saw his time after the race. I’ve never seen as many people going down and looking in a bad way. There were victims even before half way. Insanity
Awesome run for Cole and a well deserved title. I still think a full strength Jakob is able to run away from him when he begins the squeeze. Going to be fascinating watching those 2 go at it for the next several years.
As for Grant, still a little baffled as to what the strategy was there. Nico I think mistimed his peak. Would love to hear an explanation on Mills.
