He's got this no worries
938kms at 10min34sec per km
Now he only needs 681kms at 7min36sec kms.
Aren’t you reading the responses to your comments?
Asking for points that aren’t bitter is like asking you for points that aren’t daft.
Just tuned in to this thread. I read the guy's social media stuff at the beginning of the thread. What a tool. Making good use of the charity shield (so even his detractors tend to feel obligated to begin with, "uh, well, it's highly commendable what that he's doing it for charity, but..."), and picking fringe events of ultrarunning as his medium of "accomplishment", so a good 70% of the unwitting public is going to be impressed no matter what.
Tbh, all I needed to see was the mullet, and the quote from him below following his apparently nation-inspiring run across Australia, and it was immediately obvious he was a fraudulent narcissistic attention-lover. Granted, there is nothing intrinsically evil about mullets, or about congratuling oneself for having inspired a whole nation, but still...sometimes one is able to intuit these things...

Wow, who upset you man?
you know running is a capability every human with legs has yeah it’s not a special exclusive sport? Nedd didn’t say his gonna win the PGA tour or get drafted by the Celtics.. he just said his going to try run 1600km in 10 days for CHARITY.. boo hoo.. I think cause nedd has a personality better than half of you indoor pot plants and resonates with real people his becoming what he is and you gate keeping runners can’t stand it. It’s really sad to see actually, his not hurting anyone what’s the issue.. get out and do it yourselves instead of sitting on a forum like worthless idiots with your sad negative opinions while someone’s having a crack. Should be ashamed.
Going to run 1600 km in 10 days is like beating Tiger Woods in his best days at 4 majors in a row. Yiannis Kouros was the Tiger Woods of ultrarunning.

Can anyone else remember, almost a year ago, that he started to do all these pull ups and stated he was out to break the world record for most in 24hrs? He hyped it, posted it relentlessly on social media, taking a chin up bar across the country to practice… and then it was just forgotten. Nothing heard. I just found it all very bizarre. As if he realised he couldn’t do it so just completely left it.
I have wondered for a few days where Nedd goes from here.
Presumably he earns some money for a few years on the speaking circuit? Does he then just go back to be a tradie? Does he come up with some other running/marketing/charity challenge? New career as media personality if he can keep his F- and C-bombs in check?
From the outside, it's difficult to know what motivates him the most. A genuine desire to have social impact, a quest for celebrity, a love of running or something else.
As a runner, I'd be interested to see him hang out in ultras a couple of years and see what he can do among a bit of competition. I'm not sure how he'd feel with sharing the fairly dim limelight that shines on most events, but I'd imagine he'd be athletically suited to grinding out some decent Backyard totals. I doubt finishing in fukteenth place in big races like Comrades, UTMB or WS will feed what drives him, as it does for many of us. Intrinsic motivation and external validation are very personal variables.
I'm not even sure how he winds up this event.
He has the track booked for more than three days yet. He had about 10 hours off the track last night. That bed is going to feel no less attractive tonight.
Does he walk the hours by until Monday with the only goal to keep the donations rolling in? There's nothing worse than trying to reach the end of timed event when you're in constant pain and no amount of effort or will power is going to bring that finish any nearer.
Does he do what's best for his body and simply call it quits today?
Alternatively, announce he's going to finish at 1000km, get another decent sleep tonight and throw the gates open to the stadium at noon tomorrow, suffer through most of tomorrow to a Friday night party atmosphere and celebrate the 1000km?
It would attract the media, the donations, and the 99% of the fans wouldn't know the difference between 1000 km vs 1000 miles as he breasts the tape a "winner"*. A triumphant and gallant finish with head held high.
* "winner" = 2 days behind Kouros' 1000km split when he set the world record.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned here yet, but even if by some miracle he were to run 1,000 miles in 10 days (or anything under Kouros' mark), it would still not be ratifiable as a World Record. For starters, it's not a race. Let alone the crazy master lap thing.
(I speak as the records officer for GOMU, which maintains the 1,000-mile and 10-day WRs.)
Ahh, Bob has entered the conversation. Good evening.

What's a master lap?
Something to confuse people with.
He apparently has one of the best timing and tracking companies yet he is running up and down in lanes 2 to 8 and they are only updating on Strava based on 'the say so' that a master lap of 12.8km has been completed. He apparently has timing chips on both ankles, why not run in lane 2 or 3 etc and let it auto update after each lane distance. Or if you really want the Master Lap BS then auto update each lap crossing with that specific lap's distance. This is something way easier than most of what that timing/tracking company does, yet just not in this WR attempt where you would think its the most required. On top of that his adulating fans can only cheer from outside the ground as it is apparently off limits for now. All you get is the 'sh*tty video feed.
Then you have these fawners with different handles everytime telling you that you are bitter
I just don’t get why he is doing the thing on a track. The whole point of the “master lap” is to negate the issues that come from running circles around a track. The easiest fix would be to not do it on a track…right?

The 'master lap' is still the same circles, just in a confusing to do way and a hard way to monitor...figure out why

Just change direction every 4 hours.
As the fourth hour ticks over, finish the lap you are on, turn around a cone on the finishline. Rinse and repeat.
Simple and accurate. Works well enough in every other track ultra.
If this really was his absolute total goal they would be flogging the socials with the link to donate as it stands I haven’t seen much mention of it - it’s not hard to post a story with a link reminding people of the why every 2 hours
.

Bro there’s people who picked up running because of nedd etc use all sound so bitter, he was cursing during a run.. big deal and I don’t believe the pacer, his got a sister and a mum his clearly very close with and doesn’t seam like he’d be making sexist comments.
so much jealousy and insecurity. Try say something uplifting
No you’re absolutely so right here because no one who ever made a sexist comment had a mother…..
I had asked the question if every lap was being recorded or just this master lap thing. Because if only every 12th lap or whatever it is is recorded then averaged out then simply forgetting if you have run 1 lap in a lane or 2 laps in a lane then moving to the next would add 400+ meters to the actual distance run . Mind you I don't think he's being dishonest as he certainly looks like he's suffering.

Let’s say instead a guy advertised that he would be breaking fhe world record in the 100meter and would be running it in under 9 seconds. He says he’s doing it to raise money for charity. Spends a bunch of time promoting his sub 9 second 100 meter, interviews, social media - really talks it up like he’s going to do it. Gets a big followed excited for his record breaking run. Raises a bunch of money. The day comes, everyone is watching, and he barely breaks 15 seconds in the 100. Painfully obvious he was never going to get close to breaking 10 seconds let alone 9 seconds. What does everyone think - this clown wasted our time with his lies. This is not different, it’s just taking longer to realize that this clown wasted your time with his lies.

It is hard to 'just record' the master lap without actually recording each lap, so why not publish those laps live. If they are just updating every master lap, then the logical thing to assume is they are doing it when 'told' he has now completed one.
The way the timing lines work is that - if passive chips are used (non battery)- then the mats are live all the time, and each time it detects the chip (outside a time filter) it would be an extra read. So you could go from lane 8 to 2 and back, it would 'know' those readings on the assumption that the sequence of laps were followed. When he turns around, providing it is within the time filter, then the sequence continues after the next full lap again.
This is a red flag, and said without so called 'bitterness' or 'malice'...it is just an observation.
If this was a mile race, Kouros is at the bell, Nedd is 200m back waving at the crowd. He's so far behind that he thinks he's winning.
im very interested to see how it concludes.
Does he make a call before the ten days, at the mark, or attempt to keep going.
i think before, but i honestly don’t know .
i thought it was over after last night
