So, I haven't seen this course. I have watched it on live stream. Let's say you have a good mixed team that have variety of speedsters and strength runners for your 1-10 and their places on the team vary. Who do you put on the line at NXN? Which regional race course is the most like NXN?
These rankings are an absolute joke. Who created this, the Bethlehem coach?
Bethlehem at #1 is laughable. In Milesplit's own team merge, Bethlehem would be #FORTY THREE in the country in a 5k and #SEVENTEEN in a 3-mile.
Even the explanation of "their #5 is better than other teams' #4" is half-baked. Mountain Vista and the rest of the top 10 teams are far more deserving than Bethlehem.
Poor analysis, and the descriptions aren't for the correct teams. Milesplit has gone to crap. Ventura is the best team in CA. Santiago didn't run OC. JSerra doesn't have the top 1-2, Santiago does. Flower Mound doesn't often run their top runners at the same race, to preserve them and gather wins.
Is this whole "analysis" based on a flawed speed rating from a course that no good teams ran? Sure looks like it.

Wait, hold on, no. no. That was Kyle Brazeil. He is a NY’er himself. That sure is more like it
Whatever credibility Kyle Brazeil and Milespllit had is officially gone. Complete fail in "journalism".
Does Milesplit actually pay him for his biased "rankings" and completely incorrect descriptions?
According to Kyle: "At Bethlehem's best, they can put five girls ahead of Mountain Vista's fourth."
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, KYLE? Bethlehem's #1 would barely beat Mtn Vista's #5. There are literally FORTY NINE teams who would outscore them based on 5k PR's, and 16 outscore them in a 3-mile. They don't have a single runner breaking 18. Why are they even in the conversation on a national ranking? I'm not trying to bash the team, just the writer.

This transfer ridiculousness started in 2017 when Loudoun Valley got 2 scoring transfers and won NXN, then in 2018 they got even more transfers
It is getting ridiculous that we keep focusing on people moving their children to what they view as successful programs, and they achieve some sort of critical mass and then more people come, and never give any thought that it was the coaches there that created the environment for success.
As much as I am not a fan to the Hunters, they did good work, and the level of continued success at LV dropped almost immediately with their departure. Yes, LV still does well, however, it is not at the same level it was in the Hunter era.
The reason parents (do not be naive, parents are certainly choosing where to take their kids these days) are going to MVHS, Valor, Niwot, AAHS and now Coronado has everything to do with the work those coaches and schools are putting into creating a quality running program. This does not mean I agree with some of the more mercenary parents that are out there hopping from school to school, but, other schools can work to get the check collectors, bullies (yes, adult coach bullies), and toxic culture under control, or not, however, successful programs will.
Loudoun Valley is better now than Drew Hunter’s freshman year and before. They couldn’t make state at that time. That was the year before his parents started coaching there

Kyle 47 other teams also have better times, if you want to check your own site's statistics.
I know a midseason ranking doesn't matter much... so why lose credibility over something as badly biased as this?
The course they ran those times on(SPAC) is labeled as 3.05 miles and has 150ft of elevation gain. Look at how Saratoga has done at nxn after being ranked high from running well at spac. It’s a historic course with lots of data you could compare.
