It’s also the same course Huntington North and both middle schools use as their home course. So that probably complicates things for the IHSAA.

I think it's reasonable to assume that the IHSAA folks making decisions want to stay as far away from this scandal as possible and are purposely being vague. This seems like the typical statement that would have been vetted by an attorney.
Oh yeah, for sure! It is definitely a good decision for them to move the meet, and I understand the lawyered up statement.
One tidbit that I should've mentioned about the Woods interview... in answering a question about whether or not any other victims have come forward or are planning to do so (which would be very important at this stage, imo), Woods stated that he will be at the League Meet in Shelbyville (outside Indianapolis) on November 4 to make himself available. If additional victims came forward (and, of course, any additional concrete evidence would be nice), that would really help the suit.
Has anyone actually seen the petition Mr. Woods has mentioned? Assuming that's not like a Change.org petition but a legit document signed by these 200+ female athletes.
How is the AD still there?

Because you can't clean house if the housecleaners are also a part of the filth. Everyone there is just so outrageously incompetent. If you think suspending the coaches for the time being was a win, you're wrong. Remember they did the same thing two years ago? Yet they still ended up hiring Lauren (once the media scrutiny had simmered). The lawsuit was filed on September 30th: business as usual. The IndyStar article dropped a week later: no action. It wasn't until the media uproar from the article that forced them to take one single step in the right direction.
This post was removed.

Because she was Lauren Johnson's basketball coach and it seems that Lauren Johnson is the greatest athlete to ever attend Huntington because she held the world record for dribbling a basketball while running a mile.
Its sad there are still kids making recruiting trips. New coach or not, my kid blocked anything or anyone from their social media pages and said no thanks.

I may be mistaken...
On the Dyestat podcast, Woods said that the Huntington police would have arrested Nick were it not for an "uncooperative witness". I took that to mean that someone else was giving the police a very different testimony than HS or EW.
You are mistaken. Again.
You completely misunderstood what Woods said. Woods did not say that Huntington police are not arresting Nick for crimes against HS and EW because of an uncooperative witness.Nor did he say anything about other witnesses contradicting HS and EW. What Woods did say was that, in the earlier case, the prosecutors settled with Nick because of an "uncooperative witness."
In other words: Contrary to what you say, Woods was talking about: a) a completely different case than the one involving HS and EW; and, b) a completely different decision than whether to arrest Nick.
There is no reason for you to be so confused and confusing. None of this is news. It is well know that the earlier case against Nick went sideways after the key witness -- the victim -- stopped cooperating with the prosecutor. Moreover, in the interview, Woods is very clear that he is talking about the earlier case, not the current one.
Nick blackout drunk by 3 pm again.

yep, business as usual. a campus recruit visit today according to the HUXC instagram
That’s a long walk around campus on all those egg shells right now. Legitimately unbelievable.
I’m just curious as to what do you want these people to do…all employees quit and then have no job and have to live off the system; all the students to quit school. I don’t get it…what if your boss or your company had a “scandal” would you quit your job…no because you need your job just like these people. It amazes me how people are so quick to say what people should do but step into their shoes for a second and stop judging so much. I don’t even know anyone that is employed there and it amazes me how you can say this without taking a step back; tell me what you’d do in their situation. maybe some are looking for other jobs..you don’t know.

I’m not implying that all campus tours should shut down (although I wouldn’t let my kids near this school)
I am implying that specific CC/Track visits (which this Instagram account seemed to be sharing) seem impossible to me. What are you even going to tell the recruits if they ask about the news story? Or what happened to the old coaches? Or what happens next year?
It’s not like this isn’t news all over so if anyone is on a visit that is on their terms; they wanted to go and Im assuming questions are being asked..I don’t know at least I would hope; all I am saying is that this whole situation is sad and it’s not the fault of the current students as it seems that the current students/all athletes are being damned for doing everything and even being associated with the school because people are just trolling their social media accounts and feel the need to post about it here..society is just sad that’s all. I feel bad for anyone that is enrolled there at the moment because it’s just not fair to them.

Sounds like you don't have much of a backbone.
And how does what I am saying make me not have a backbone? Is it because I am not following the sheep?
I’m not saying the allegations aren’t horrible all I am saying is I don’t understand what people want these current students to do. what if some of these students like the school or go there to be close to home. I’m just saying that it’s not fair to the current students to be damned for being enrolled there.

Program should’ve been suspended 2 weeks ago and the NAIA should’ve allowed AND assisted all athletes who want to immediately transfer to other universities without any “cooldown” period (standard for NAIA transfers).
Is it fair to the athletes? No of course not.
But this isn’t a discussion on what is “fair”. We are talking about 18-22 year old kids that have been possibly manipulated and abused. What’s more important, a random cross country season or the well-being of 40 athletes?
I agree with the assistance of the transfer, totally should have been an immediate option for them . It appears from what I’ve been reading on here is that the “problem” has been removed or I guess suspended and as anyone with any smarts would know, before anyone comes at me, that any HR department must suspend before a fire because then the door opens for a lawsuit against the company or here the university for another lawsuit in the event this civil case would go nowhere. not saying it won’t but they have to cover their ass.
And shutting down their program is only going to add more stress to these kids.
like I said I get it but no one wants to see the bigger picture just the small picture which is sad.
on another note though how is it that the Sheriff and Chief of Police haven’t been named in this lawsuit since in one of the articles it states that a police report was made but nothing was done. Anyone know the answer to this one? I don’t know how these lawsuits work but it seems like you would go after everyone that could have had an influence on what was allegedly done or lack of being done I guess I should say.
