No, the UK Ministry of Defense is not remotely close to being a reputable source.
Their public statements are calculated, agenda-driven propaganda. While they may contain actual detail, they also knowingly parrot disinformation, exaggerate, present supposition as fact, and make purposeful omission. Their intent is to shape opinion - not to inform.
They're only slight more reliable than the Ukraine Ministry of Defense. Which is not very.
For example, today the UDF trumpeted an attack on Snake Island as "dealing a significant blow". But Maxar's satellite images show the only damage to be three areas of burned grass.
Every side in every war uses propaganda. Or they keep their mouths shut so as not to let their enemy know if they were/are being successful. It's called "The Fog of War."
After 12/7/41 we knew what our losses were, and they were severe, but did not make them public until we had some good news to report from the battle of the pacific.
That's the way war works. You'll get the good or bad news when the time is right. Not everything can be instant gratification. Yea, I know, that's what we're use to in this day and age. But when it comes to war, sometimes you have to be patient and wait for the President, Generals, Soldiers or Historians to tell us what actually occurred.
Don't look to agenda driven news organizations for facts. Most of the time they are just "Preaching to their Choirs." Sad to say, but true.

The claim here is that Russia has shut off approximately 50% of their gas export to Germany causing a "stage 2" gas emergency status with the most severe, stage 3, anticipated for this winter.
The second claim is that Lithuania has initiated a blockade on a key Russia transport line to Moscow - hoping to provoke Russia into military action in that region.
As some of us have been trying to tell you from week 1 of this Proxy Conflict, Putin made sure he had strong support from nearly all non-US/NATO countries before invading. Which is why our “crippling sanctions” are nothing of the sort.
Krystal and Saagar continue to examine the West's reckoning with the sanctions package against Russia that has skyrocketed global oil crises and gas price is...
Ukraine just received a generous shipment of American missiles.
Though so far they are being used to attack non-military targets.
A few days ago, a Rescue Tugboat was sunk.
Today, three Drilling Platforms were hit. Hopefully this does not result in an oil spill.
In other news, Ukraine is banning the Russian language, Russian Music, and Russian literature.
Nothing says "Democracy" like a good old-fashioned book burning.
So many lies in one short post:
The boat was a miltary target full of weapons and soldiars.
The platforms are not for oil but for gas, no oil to spill.
Those platforms were stolen from ukraine when russia invaded Crimea and probably used for staging weapons.
The Russian language isn't banned, the ban is on the works of russian citizens.
Not all Russian music is banned and it should be a crime to pay Russian artists that support the killing of Ukranians. Russian that condemn the war are not banned.
Democracy is fighting Putin in any way possible.
The Ukraine side claims the Rescue Tugboat was carrying weapons and soldiers.
While it have have been, no evidence to support the assertion has been presented. Both the Ukraine and Russian sides have a long history of making baseless and self-serving claims.
I referred to the the three rigs struck by the Ukraine as "drilling platforms" but did hope for there not being an "oil spill". FWIW, many news sources did/do refer to the platforms as "Oil Rigs", though you seem correct - they are drilling for natural gas. The worry about a possible "oil spill" should be rephrased to worry about "environmental damage", for which separate but real risk nonetheless exists.
"Democracy is fighting Putin in any way possible". What does this mean?
Is this meant to say restricting personal freedoms... banning music, books, language, opposition parties... conducting political round ups... shutting down newspapers and tv stations/broadcast outsets... this is "democracy" fighting "Putin"?
All of these are happening... and to Ukrainian people, not to Putin.
The Russian Language is specifically banned in many contexts in the Ukraine, not just for recent black-listing of most Russian Music and Literature. Ukraine-wide, progressive bills over the last 8 years have made it illegal to use Russian in Schools, Government and Public Institutions, for Publication, as well as in conducting of Private Services. Regionally, some local laws carry these restrictions still further.
HRW was already flagging this before the war and the latest measures:
A new legal provision on the use of the Ukrainian language, part of a broader state language law, raises concerns about protection for minority languages.

Sanctions are working, but not well and not as planned.
Putin is no psychic chess player. He (and Western analysts) expected Ukraine to capitulate in days, and while sanctions were expected, they were not expected to be so drastic. Otherwise, Russia would have drawn down their hundreds of billions in US Foreign Reserve funds now frozen and under threat of confiscation.
The Russian economy is estimated to shrink 15% this year, however the same sanctions have also foreseeably fractured global trade patterns and damaged western economies.
We are seeing already-bad supply issues worsen, experiencing historic inflation, and have triggered widespread recession.
Weaponizing the instruments of International Commerce is backfiring in our faces.
BRICS nations are adopting a different transaction network to SWIFT, many are willingly and unwillingly moving away from US Dollar contracts, and a Blended-Currency alternative to $USD foreign reserves is being implemented.
$USD Bond sales are nose driving due to eroded international confidence in the safety of those holdings. When assets are frozen or taken from some companies and countries, it shakes confidence, eroding US and Western hegemony.

Unless the tugboat was carrying a magical unicorn with tears that can cure cancer, then it doesn't really matter if there's any evidence to support Ukraine's claims about it carrying weapons and / or soldiers. It was a Russian Naval vessel, now there's another Russian boat is pretending to be a submarine. The Spasatel Vasily Bekh isn't going to be rescuing anything for the foreseeable future, some number of Russian sailors are now fish food, and and it is 100% Putin's fault.
On the bright side, there's a special place in Hell where the "brave" men flying the Russian IL-76 cargo plane that crashed this morning can join their comrades from the Spasatel Vasily Bekh and the Moskva. Maybe this is a sign that lack of parts for maintenance is catching up with the Russian military - it's certainly starting to affect their civilian aviation sector.
It looks like another "precision" Russian artillery strike hit everything except the Ukrainian units it was targeting. When the best Russia can do is slaughter the people they claim to be saving, it's time for them to withdraw completely and hold Putin accountable.

Great to see someone posting links (which aren't to fringe sources), though their presentation is clearly selective and accompanied by biased commentary unnervingly gleeful of death.
While most damage in the Ukraine is being caused by Russian side, both sides are intentionally and accidentally hitting civilians and civilian structures, having fired artillery rounds into 7 figures.
There is damage to a Ukraine port-side grain terminal, said to have reduced its shipping capacity by 1/3, but it's moot as the terminal has no sea access due to both sides having mined waters. The damage to the vegetable oil silo seems to have been caused by an unguided rocket from a scattered MRL salvo.
It is worth noting Ukraine does often place military assets (ammunition, western arm shipments, and such) in buildings built for non-military purposes; factories, repair facilities, and commercial warehouses, for example.
When these assets are struck in targeted missile attacks, the Ukraine side nearly always claims no military assets were there, but will also forbid access and photographing of the damaged area, presumably to prevent those claims being disproved.
Independent sources claim around 2,000 Ukrainian troops have surrendered or are cut off and will surrender in the next few days.
The article mentions "surrender" of Severodonetsk -- as in the Ukraine side abandoning the position.
But the linked article does not mention surrender of Ukraine soldiers. And I have not seen that posted in the news.
Though that might reasonably be expected. The only way out of the Azot planned, to which Ukraine was hemmed into, seems to be swimming or crossing the river in small boats. This would seem difficult to do for the thousands said to have been holed up. An article a few days ago noted"re-supply" of Severodonetsk - it was three guys and a box of ammo in a small inflatable raft crossing from Lysychansk.
Or zelensky can surrender. That would also solve this conflict.
You are the one who tells the person being repeatedly stabbed on the street by a thug to stop making a fuss, so the man can finish his job quickly and move on.

Oh you mean that same person who murdered tens of thousands of russian heritage people in donbas from 2014 to 2022?
If China invaded the US, I’m pretty sure we would ban the Chinese language and fight back like hell and never surrender our country to foreign invaders. That’s essentially what Ukraine are doing. I’m not sure who or why there are people supporting Russia on this website. It’s a fringe opinion at best and propaganda from Russian operatives at worst. Here in Houston there are Ukraine flags everywhere, and I haven’t met anyone or seen anything anywhere supporting Russia. I doubt anyone would even mention supporting Russia even if they did because it’s basically like saying you support the killing of innocent women and children.

Don't be so sure. Maybe U.S. citizens are wise enough to understand the wisdom of negotiated settlements. If U.S. & N.A.T.O. did not aid Ukraine, Ukraine would have negotiated in a sober thoughtful manner months ago.
Fight to the last man? Is that what U.S. did War of 1812? Look at a map. Looks like a negotiated settlement to me. U.S. & Canada share Great Lakes. U.S.-Canadian border is in the middle of Great Lakes. Windsor, Canada is south of Detroit, MI. Doesn't look like fight to the last man to me.
You really can’t be an American if you think the American people would seek a settlement if China invaded us.
Ukraine is doing what any country would do if they were invaded, fight back like hell and get as much help as possible.
Ukraine are lucky they have rich powerful countries helping them. Obviously Ukraine are getting much more help then is being reported.
Russian influence, wealth and reputation is sinking day by day. NATO, USA, rich Asian countries and Australia/NZ will continue to supply Ukraine with weapons, intel, money, resources, and supplies until Russia is so weakened it’s global influence is buried for decades to come.
