The best news might be the drop in deaths in Israel. We've seen a pattern in countries taking vaccination seriously - lots of vaccinations = lower case counts... but deaths have not fallen much. Until now, in Israel. Just the last day or two deaths have started to plunge there, down 29% from their peak.
Clearly the 3-4 week gap between infection and death is working its way through and we should start to see drops in deaths in vax countries like the US and UK.
The sharp improvement in US cases continues: down 42% from a month ago. Deaths down just 5%.
1.8% totally vaxxed, 7.8% one shot.
The number of jabs per day continues to rise - up to 1.4 million, stairstepping up.
UK amazes - what is going on there? Cases down 60% from a month ago. Deaths down 8%. 0.73% totally vaxxed, 13.7% one shot.
Israel cases down 22%, deaths down 29%.
21% totally vaxxed, 37% one shot.
They are the future, we hope, as we catch up to Israel's vaccination efforts.
France as a counter example of a poor vax uptake- 0% totally vaxxed, 2% one shot. Their cases have not dropped at all and neither have deaths.
