Thanks. Well, not sure how the election is going to go, or how I would vote. Until recently. I think more people are feeling the same. The toppling over of the U.S. Grant statue in San Francisco has to be the height of this unhinged insanity.

I listen to Tucker Carlson a Libertarian, really don’t care for the rest. In the piece posted Carlson blasts Republicans more than Democrats. That fits into more my view, that is, both parties just pander to get re-elected. I find it hard to get enthusiastic for anyone except those that get marginalized. Loved CNN for years, but find they fallen into the Red versus Blue. Lately gravitate just to BBC, Bloomberg, and CNBC which seem less partisan. At times just want to get away from the nastiness. Watching a Bogart movie on TCM currently.

I know, right. Listening now to Trump at his under-attended convention in Tulsa, and I am having a very hard time finding the smartest person in that room. No, really, If this is leadership in the age of Covid, we are in big trouble.

Cases in Idaho have really jumped. Cases are back to early April levels.

King County, home to seattle, also had a big uptick yesterday, but opened up to phase 2 anyway. I think that's happening in a lot of places, florida, texas, etc.

As I mentioned, I don't think anyone cares much anymore. Perhaps we won't need to care quite as much since we understand the virus a bit more at this point and who exactly is vulnerable. The 2-3 months of lock down presumably have given PPE manufacturers ample time to build supply. Hospitals should theoretically have a better understanding of how to handle cases as well. I haven't had time to read much up on it so I could easily be wrong here.

Last two days 30k/day in U.S. was 20k a few weeks ago. Too bad wearing masks and being careful has turned into a political litmus test.

two things that are alarming to me is that a lot of people are not taking accepted precautions as they move back into the public sphere. It's not just the opening up, it's how safely it is done, and i am hearing bad stuff. Stuff like lack of compliance in restaurants in San Fran, for example, and 2) also hearing that something like 30 % of the public won't even take a Covid vaccine if and when it is developed. Add to that the attitudes to masks and distancing is dividing along party lines, which is clearly unfortunate.

The article is admittedly a month old and things have been moving rapidly, but I'm willing to bet not much has changed.

You can be certain that we are not quite as divided as pundits and talking heads would have you believe.
