the idiot,
The riots and social disruptions are an outgrowth of the Fed policies that saved the market, but not the jobs of millions of gig workers. It is political season and the Democrats have seized upon this moment of unrest, while the Republicans rush to get the economy open to quell the election threat, and praying there is no second outbreak.
BLM and ACAB is a distraction from liberal urban administrations that have failed Black communities. Minneapolis has been as bastion of liberal thinking and administration for decades. In Democratically administered Chicago Black on Black violence continues unabated.
Seattle does not have a large Black community (7%), but is ruled by Democrats with a heavy dose of white guilt. Years ago in King County where Seattle is located they changed its historical name from a man who once held slaves to Martin Luther King. I see nothing wrong with this, but illegally destroying statues in an attempt to re-write history is another matter. Last week in Philadelphia the protestors tore down a statue of an abolitionist (old is bad, tear it down) foolishly thinking it was a “bad white guy.” White guilt feeds the business of victimization. Al Sharpton is one of it’s biggest millionaires.
Clearly there is a growing realization in the Black community that the culture of victimization is a problem. I believe in the capacity of a person to better their life. Much of that hinges on accepting personal responsibility and hard work. I can both look at the death of George Floyd as being horrible, but also see the victim as a man who wasted his life. That was on him, and no one else. Why should I be ashamed of this post, or any of the others? I am pretty sure I have walked the walk as they say. If you find that view reprehensible, perhaps actually living and working in a minority communities might change your view.
