DOGE was initially about showing those who voted for him that he was serious about cutting costs. Of course it was really about purging the government and installing loyalists and more importantly removing oversight officials. It also tested whether Congress would stand up for their own power. They did not.
DOGE using Musk's tech resources, installed mass citizen surveillance and achieved theft of all American's social security information.
ICE is Trump's personal loyalist army beholden to no one but him. It will not go away unless Congress acts. Unfortunately, the BBB authorized massive spending on this army with no oversight. Its purpose is only immigration in rhetoric. ICE is mosly deployed in democratic areas to intimidate and hurt democratic area economies. ICE will remain in these areas to "oversee" elections by making sure non white people don't vote and if possible, even white democtatic areas.
The NEXT thing is already here: bogus charges against political foes. Convictions are not the point, yet. For now, embroiling them in a media circus with maga death threats, expensive lawyer bills and personal security is enough.
Longer term the goal is a fully compliant justice system. This is already in motion with the SCOTUS shadow docket which rules for Trump and against precedents and the Constitution without explanation.
Media compliance is already well on its way with pseudo state controlled media in truth social and x. Now Trump has used government power to secure tiktok for a political ally billionaire. We can fully expect it to become a right wing megaphone in the coming months. Lawsuits and FCC threats are part of this spear.

Trump: When you shut it down, you have to do layoffs. So, we'd be laying off a lot of people that are going to be very affected, and they're gonna be Democrats.
Again, Democrats play with the shutdown at their own risk.

In 1.0 Trump never understood why the president couldn’t have his own domestic police force to be used against America the way his dictator pals had. He got into fights with several of his staff and lawyers that tried to explain that isn’t the way America works.
Now we can watch Ice morph into Trump own law force beholden to him and immune from police regulations. They have a budget bigger than the Marines.
We already see that they are abandoning the mission of “immigration” and now serve to just scare and terrorize people in City squares for no reason. I have to agree, Bolivar. There's no way the First Amendment can be read to apply to foreigners. The Founding Fathers were concerned about Americans, not Islamicals. Most people had probably never even heard of Islam way back then in the Constitutional days of antiquity. Unless the liberals can prove in court that the Founding Fathers knew about Islamic terrorism, the Supreme Court will strike this down and return the defendants to incarcerative custodians.
