Also, you have some interesting ideas on freedom and politeness. Just so it can be used against me in a future job interview, I disagree with your claim that saying mean things is incompatible with democracy. I think it's a sign of a healthy and functioning democracy, provided we do not enforce harsh consequences when we hear things we do not agree with. (Which we do, so let me be clearer: canceling people is wrong.)
I also disagree with your take on science. It doesn't bend toward truth and it sometimes tells us things we don't want to hear. (ex. Ask a biologist "Does life begin at conception?" and, if you pro-choice, you may not like the answer.)
Freedom implies tradeoffs. We have no way of knowing whether or not Covid would have been stopped by vaccines. I hope we can agree that it wasn't eradicated by them. Should people have the freedom *not* to take the vaccine? If they don't, are they free? Hope you see the point I'm trying to make.
