What American has "many Russian friends" (other than Donald Trump)? How is that even possible? I've been all over the country, Canada, Europe and Central and South America and probably met several thousand people in my life and I can only recall meeting two Russians ever anywhere. Russians don't leave their sh!thole homeland much. It's not what serfs do. Where did you meet these many Russians friends of yours? Is there some secret enclave of Russian ex-pats/dissidents near your house? Have they asked you to do things that make you feel uncomfortable?
