This thread is exactly why Track and Field will never be a mainstream sport in America. Once a team, or individual, has any level of success he/she is immediately labeled a doper. Shame on Lets Run and shame on the American running community as a whole. We are better than cyclists, however, to me that is what we are coming off as right now.

On the contrary, I think this sort of talk IS giving track and field more exposure and interest. The events from last weekend as well as this weekend have made track and field the most interesting it has been in a while!

You should know that there is a lot of chatter online and offline that running news on Letsrun.com sucks. A major newspaper has already reported on that. Understand Wejo that even if news came out days or weeks later that Centro tested positive, its STILL uncalled to leave this thread up. Read the posts in this thread. We’ve heard back from Ricky Simms. He wrote, “Matthew put out a statement earlier this evening. This story was completely fabricated. It would be appreciated if you could remove the post from your website.”

Did it ever dawn on you that maybe that thread was started to juxtapose this thread? Although the other thread is a legitimate inquiry. It is clear to me that your (yes, you Wejo) website is slanted to reflect your views on the sport. I think it is ridiculous that this thread has stayed up for this long, and spare me the BS about how the pageviews for this thread are meaningless to this website. I honestly believe Letsrun has play a SIGNIFICANT role in the resurgence of A,erican distance running. The training/coaching methodology that was posted on this site during the early 2000's especially, has been invaluable, the spread of knowledge via letsrun has been second to none!

I never said such a thing. I did not say it's ok in order to illicit a response. I said if the rumor is out there the best way to deal with it is to issue a response. See the difference. When this thread was deleted people started the thread asking why it was deleted, ie is there a coverup.
And one caveat. You act like we can divinely know beforehand if a rumor is false or not. We can't. We can only determine if we can verify it or not.
The word "false" ultimately was removed from the piece in the editing process. Centro and Ricky are saying they are false. I'm assuming that is the case.

Centrowitz was a HS star, ran 3:36.9 winning at age 19 and at 21 won a bronze medal at worlds behind two sub-3:30 guys. 2012, 2013 had late starts, dinged up early in the year, so he has had a history of injury. The talent is there. Unlikely he's been a lab rat from HS through UO years. I bet he had a bum achilles and sought out some hormonal treatment (T, HGH synergists, etc) to speed up the process. Folks were up in arms when Tegencamp could the plasma replacement treatment and called it gray area stuff. Injury recovery shortcut is my bet
