Chelime (I think that's his name) won by like 20 seconds. UNCG destroys Appalachian. Greensboro put 4 in front of App's 1. None of the App guys broke 26??? Wow just wow.

I heard there has been a lot of rain there the past three days... very muddy and sloppy. So while this course is usually fast, I'm not sure how to properly it evaluate because of the conditions. But yes, App didn't look very impressive at all. Raby was 8th on the team though and Soderman still hasn't raced yet.
Rabies (as his own teammates call him haha) has been racing like the pu$$y he is all year. What a nerdy loser.
If the course is muddy & slow, then please give some context to Chelimo's sub-24 time. Doesn't look like conditions bothered him too much. Also, looks like UNCG sat their #2 guy, and their other Kenyans ran like crap, so they might even be better than the results indicate.
What? UNCG didn't sit any of their top runners. And the Chelimo is probably one of the top 10 runners in the nation.. no context necessary. His other Kenyan teammates are good, but not in the same league as he is. The only one who may have had an off day was Katam. But yes, App looked like garbage. Still early, but it's not looking good for them

Katam was a strong 2 for them at Elon a couple weeks ago, coming off of finishing 13th in the 10k at regionals in track. No reason he shouldn't be their second unless Thompson picks him off.

If you look at the opening mile splits you see that Katam was the only one to try and go out with Chelimo.
Clearly not quite up to his level but is still my pick for second in conference.

Chatt's looking a little thin on personnel from the results and their roster. Anyone know what's up with Vasquez? A good showing from him at conference (which he's done the past three years) could make the difference for them between also-rans and top 3.
Davidson has the manpower to compete with UNCG's 3-5 for sure, and I think the points between both teams 1-2 runners will be so low as to not affect the team race too much. Koech's fitness over the next month could be pivotal. Davidson should have 5 or 6 guys mixing it up pretty evenly for their last 3 scoring slots all season.
It will be interesting to see how Furman, App, and others' additions to the top 20 at conference will affect scoring in the team race.
Great runs by Hopkins and Pagonis. Cotter ran awesome for UTC right behind Berry.
Vasquez is probably injured...so once again the Mocs will come up short because they don't have depth.
Didn't think the SoCon would see a cross-country runner as strong as Kirwa for a while, but Chelimo is a machine!

Chat might even beat App and maybe even Furman might even edge App out too. Hell at that rate Wofford might even have an outside shot. And for Chelimo he's probably one of the top 10 contenders in the country, Hopkins has a good shot at All-American as well.

Soderman is redshirting.
I don't think Moen will be top 16 but we'll see. Even if he is, taking Soderman out App will be 5th with 83 points. Could see Furman sneaking up and getting them too. If they don't get top 3, which is a very real possibility at this point, all he!! will break loose.
Things look risky for App this year.
UNCG is looking really good with their kenyan power.
If Davidson can hold it together til conference they're looking like they could win it.
If Chatt can get a 5th man they're definitely in it.
Furman always seems to peak for conference and if they improve even more could be a big contender.
A lot of if's but App needs to see some big improvements if they hope to be in the top 3 this year.
I think this might be the first time there are four Socon teams ranked in the top 15 in their regions and App isn't one of them.
It's going to be one hell of a conference race!
