An absolutely ridiculous and intellectually shallow post....with all due respect. If you are a cop and hate your job go do something else. This doesn't justify being horrible at your job, especially when the people you are supposedly serving are paying your salary.
Yeah I know your type very well. If only life was so easy for such grounded, reasonable, rational, never-put-a-foot-wrong model citizens like you are huh.

I fully agree with point #2, and even that it is best practice to be polite when interacting with law enforcement. But with that said, there is no law requiring you to be polite. Not being polite or arguing with an officer does not give them the right to turn to violence.
After watching the video a couple more times, it does appear the police sandwiched Kerley and escalated. Granted, we don't have sound before this and arn't sure what was going on. If the cops had already asked him to stay back then, which I'm guessing is the case, then he is at fault for getting in their business. If he was just politley walking up to ask about his car, and they sandwiched and initiated contact, then the police are at fault. Kerley is one of the most powerful athletes in the world and cleary the police were threatened by his stature. Awful situation and always best to keep your distance from police. Honestly, best to avoid the police entirely since they have an unfair advantage over the individual. When the State is standing watch in the street, do not confront. Be politically active otherwise and avoid. My guess is Judge sides with Kerley on this one, its a bad look for the police when he was not actually a threat.
Hey you are just as dumb as MR SALVITORE or what?
Try walking into a cordoned off police zone without permission or worse against explicit no-go orders and see if you are swarmed in 1s by officers!!
Wake up your idea dude! You have to be sandwiched once you do such a brazen act as you become a contender for crime.
If I run Miami PD I would not only sandwich Fred I would taser him on 1st time of asking!
Fred committed serious trespass of the cordoned off area and he was acting and speaking like a ruffian gangster so whatever happened later on down the trail in space and time however much unfortunate is still completely par for the course and due justice for him! Getting beaten up, tasered it’s just and equitable in space and time!!

Was that intellectually shallow enough for you?
Talk direct to me MR smartypants!
I have the final say in all things space and time due to my physics instincts.
Final verdict: Fred erred and possibly erred due to drug influence. I mean which retard walks right into a cordoned off police area and speaks like a gangster? Well only Fred so it seems.
as for the police? They were just scared as hell and felt threatened. I mean Fred could be carrying a gun for all they know right?!
Fred is lucky he is alive actually 😏😏

US police videos are the best entertainment on the internet. That one where the cop blows the black woman away in her own house, her having called them for help cos she was scared of someone outside. She seemed very anxious and alone, and I immediately felt very sorry for her. But Officer Nutcase knew better and immediately starting suspecting her of stuff. Which made her more anxious.
The guy proceeds to treat her like a crim before she goes in the kitchen and he dirty Harry's her cos he was afraid she was going to chuck the saucepan at him apparently.
Never be poor and black ask help off the police. You have no idea what nutcase is going to turn up. And the police NEVER face justice when they err. That guy is open and shut death penalty case or life imprisonment will likely get far less or even nothing. You will ONLY get justice by taking the law into your own hands unless you are rich. If there were more true God believers who did not care about mortal life he would already be dead, and would suffer too. Muslims would never allow this too happen the cop would be dead by the end of the day.
You live in a police state run by gangsters. The origin of the police in history is to defend the ruling classes from the plebs. That good men are found within its ranks is irrelevant to its primary function. And trust me they will turn on you for their masters every MF time!
Kerley though is an outright dumbo. You are outgunned and outmanned fool! You beat fatso loser cops with PR teams and lawyers not going full paleo! Never go full paleo in modern life! Rambo is just a story brah!!!
He looks like he has an attitude. He earned the end result. Noboby out there knows how to interact with the police. Certainly not high profile Blacks. That's not racist. That's reality.

I'd say that was just the right amount of intellectual shallowness. Good job.
There's a discussion to be had about knowing your rights for sure. But no easy answers here. We should expect police to be doggedly professional. And we should expect the public, who may not know or remember the intricacies of the law, to give public officials like police officers the benefit of the doubt.
I've been a public official in the past - and they should not immediately be given the benefit of the doubt. It should be earned by the official, sometimes repeatedly so.
As a human interacting with another, it's usually a good practice to give the benefit of the doubt - you'll usually get better results.
But when you're dealing with an official, acting in an official capacity - the onus is BY FAR on them to justify themselves. Your statement implies an equivalence, and it should be much more weighted in the official's direction.
No do what your told and don't make a complaint. It will be ignored, you are wasting you time and theirs. Comply with all of their commands irrespective of whether they are lawful and try to avoid them the next time. They are legally allowed to steal your money in some states in highway stops, where their dog sniffers are used to provide them leverage to get in your car, then they steal any money you have, just to be safe.
They also try to fit people up, and themselves are often drug dealers. Prisons in the UK for example are filled with drugs. The reason is simple, prison officers are paid peanuts for a challenging job, by allowing drug dealers to deal they get their cut. The prisoners get to be off their face, the drug dealer makes his money, the officers take their cut of the action. The Governor with all his pomp and do-nothingness basks in the prison passing various fake prison tests.
Everybody's happy, except of course God who is the only one we truly need to be happy with us. But he must surely hate us now!
i cant imagine the cop making space by touching fred was a problem but when fred brushes it off, what does florida law say about that? seems like this would be a sticking point, whether youre allowed to touch a cop as an innocent bystander (at the time).
the cop reacts by shoving fred- which is an insane escalation but might be permissible if fred wasnt allowed to touch him in the first place. if the initial touch by fred was not unlawful, then it might come down to if the cop would be allowed to "defend" himself so aggressively and how he could portray the actual threatening nature of the situation. (also contingent on what fred might have said.)
then when fred comes back like this is a regular old street fight he really complicates things for himself. it seems like his hope for a positive outcome hinges on the laws in florida for the first two interactions.
You answered your own question - the officer touched Fred first which technically is assault. The officer behind Fred touched him also at which point Fred was sandwiched between two officers and can genuinely claim he feared for his life and the natural reaction is to start fighting back. The officers are obviously young and inexperienced and they were acting no differently than the fools who hang out at that nightclub. Those officers are either inadequately trained or they forgot their training. The officers most likely switched into fighting mode because they are young hot heads who felt threatened by Fred's physical stature.
What makes it so bad was the officers were responding to an incident and allowed themselves to get sidetracked skirmishing with Fred. An experienced officer would have told Fred "OK just get out of here" and remained focused on the task at hand. The officer's actions may have allowed perps to escape the scene.
He sure seems to get into a lot of trouble. His girlfriend sounded like she is nuts. She screamed the same thing 100 times.
So you’d just stand there quietly while they did this to your boyfriend/girlfriend?
Back in my 20's when I acted like a drunk jackass my wife who I'm still married to today for 17 years would have walked away and said you are on your own see you when you get out. His girlfriend did nothing but prove to everyone that Kerley is dating an SNL Character.
Not only did Fred didn’t walk away he used the F word every sentence that came out of his mouth. This is bad behavior. If you are not going to say F word in race interviews where cameras are filming you are not going to use that in front of the police too.
Not walking away and using the F word are not crimes. It is not a lawful order for a cop to tell you to "get out of here," especially in a public right of way.
You are a complete moron he was in an area that was under police jurisdiction.

That's logical but we don't really know what happened at the beginning. Maybe the police did say that and Fred refused to leave.
Police officer is not even in the top ten most dangerous jobs. Delivery driver is much more dangerous. Also, being disrespectful isn’t a crime. Even if Fred didn’t do things to stop the situation from escalating the police should have done that. They could have easily handled his concerns calmly and not started putting hands on him. The police were scared of him because he is a tall black man. They escalated the situation and were unnecessarily violent. You are a bootlicker and called Fred Kerly a “thug” for being as disrespectful to the cops as they were to him. You are a racist loser.
LOL calling Fred a thug. He founded a barber shop in Miami about a year or so ago so he is actually a small business owner contributing to the Miami economy. He has also founded other businesses in other states employing both his family members and other people. He is a businessman.
Yeah because every decision he made was those a business man LOL. He acted like a thug this is not a race thing it is an entitled jerk thinking rules don't apply to him. They should have broke his leg while they were at it at knocked him back down to reality.
