"Nedd didn’t say his gonna win the PGA tour or get drafted by the Celtics"
That's exactly what he's saying. That's the point.
And running is objective, measurable. You can see what his ability is. So when someone comes out saying they're now going to be the fastest runner in the world over a distance, when they very clearly will not be able to do that, it's definitely disrespectful and sketchy at best if you're receiving any sort of money from the claims.
Why don't you bend your knee and give Goodge the ring now.
Too late, Cockerell already did it when he flew to America for Goodge and got to spend "7-minutes" completely alone with him, without the crew.
If it weren't for my downloading and analysis in the second page of this thread, you would still all be accusing Nedd of "cheating" in his Australia run. Cat got all your tongues again like when Cockerell had to apologize for falsely accusing Goodge of pilfering charity funds?
I agree with the other posters in this thread who say the worst thing about Nedd is his fanbase. They defend him vigorously whenever anyone questions his claims/data. You also have a lot of B-grade celebrities jumping on the bandwagon and flooding his comment section without knowing anything about the history of the record he was trying to break. Nedd saying he was ahead of the record after the 1st or 2nd day was absolute braindead sh1t too. You're now over a day behind it, chief!!
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned here yet, but even if by some miracle he were to run 1,000 miles in 10 days (or anything under Kouros' mark), it would still not be ratifiable as a World Record. For starters, it's not a race. Let alone the crazy master lap thing.
(I speak as the records officer for GOMU, which maintains the 1,000-mile and 10-day WRs.)
Don't worry buddy. I've done the maths, he can still break the record. He just needs to suddenly start running 1min 48sec per km faster for the final 3 days and 15 hours. If he gets a turbo boost every time he checks his phone, he'll do it easily.

It did come up earlier, funny that his failed world record attempt isnt even eligible.
Are there compliance issues with WADA to be record eligible?
he never disrespected any other runners he simply set a goal like everyone would.. if I set a goal to run 10km today have I disrespected everyone whose ever ran 10km… no, it’s the dumbest way of thinking ever… what goal should he have had? Would you be happier if he said his gonna try do a couple km’s short of kouros would that be respectful. Grow up
I understand the goal aspect, but to put in the simplest terms. Anyone can swim right?
This is like if Eric the Eel asked people to donate to charity to raise funds to make a swimming pool in his country after saying he would win the 2000 Olympics 100m freestyle or break the World Record.
This resulted in him barely finishing over a minute behind the eventual winner (if you know swimming that's insane)
Put it in perspective, would you be calling Eric the GOAT, building him a statue, put him on the $50 note?
The fact all proceeds are going to charity is high commendable and I personally think it's legendary. What I think majority of people are only upset because what he claimed he was going to do was in reality, outlandish and ridiculous for his capability. But alot of people bought into it (they think Nedd is some Demigod?) not understanding how crazy the "goal" Nedd set was. There was no in depth background given to the audience of how insane the current record or goal was or a breakdown of the intricacies, technicalities or the hardships that he would face. This is fairly evident now that there are no clear updates on kms run, people have to work it out themselves.
Absolutely big ups to him for attempting what he's doing for sure. I sure as hell couldnt come close.
Anyway, I hope I've given you a bit of a different perspective on why the crowd on the other side of the fence are so upset.

...and yet you are the only one in love with him and supporting his cheating.

I do think it is commendable if he can get people to dip into the pocket for a worthy charity, but his game plan is personal followers, $25K speeches that follow etc and people forget that the charity is only at 2.5% of the goal.
I can see your point but it’s not the same.. running is a fundamental ability that most people can do, whereas sports like golf or basketball require specific skills and techniques. An example of that is I could run 10km so can kipchoge, I can’t hit a golf ball at all I swing and miss but tiger woods can, Steph curry can hit a three I could completely miss the rim, but none the less I can run 10km given the time .. as can anyone. Can’t say the same for most sports.
Nedd's challenge to run 1600 km is more about his personal commitment and determination and the awareness his bringing than technical skill and that’s what inspiring people.
Anyone can participate in running, and that inclusivity is what makes it special. It doesn’t require the same level of expertise as other sports, so it opens the door for everyone to take part. Nedd’s efforts encourage people to challenge themselves, regardless of their current fitness level, and that’s why australia loves him and runners hate him cause they feel threatened that they won’t be taken serious and they hold their sport so precious … it’s running, it’s not that deep 🏃♂️

Anyone can play basketball or golf, but not everyone can do them well. Anyone can run, but not everyone can run long or fast.
I can understand that man but is he hurting anyone? Ooo a bunch of people who don’t know running that well are rooting for a guy who is tough as nails and has a goal, whinge whinge?
If I played basketball and a guy came to me and said he could shoot 50 threes in a row like Steph curry do you think I’d cry on a forum, no I’d pay him no mind and keep going on with my basketball and life. It comes across as jealousy that he has the attention and money, don’t forget he actually is still running for it it’s not like he says it and doesn’t try, his clocked over 900km.
bit of positivity would be great, a bit of delusion is okay sometimes, no one’s done anything great without it.

I agree it is great that he stirs people to dip into pockets, but they are at 2.5% of target, yet he benefits more from a profile based on followers and commanding $25K appearance fees etc, simply because he loves 'banging his head against the wall'
The fact everyone has the access to run and the ability to is the reason this is even more insulting. To be the best in the world, or even remotely close, is something else. Tell Bolt, Jakob ingebritsen, Kipchoge, Jess Hull (an Australian who should be getting a hell of a lot more attention rn)! That there is no skill required to run at their standard and see what they say…
you know running is a capability every human with legs has yeah it’s not a special exclusive sport? Nedd didn’t say his gonna win the PGA tour or get drafted by the Celtics.. he just said his going to try run 1600km in 10 days for CHARITY.. boo hoo.. I think cause nedd has a personality better than half of you indoor pot plants and resonates with real people his becoming what he is and you gate keeping runners can’t stand it. It’s really sad to see actually, his not hurting anyone what’s the issue.. get out and do it yourselves instead of sitting on a forum like worthless idiots with your sad negative opinions while someone’s having a crack. Should be ashamed.
A personality witnessed by a credible 3hr pacer that heard him cursing and making rude jokes in that 3hr group ???
Bro there’s people who picked up running because of nedd etc use all sound so bitter, he was cursing during a run.. big deal and I don’t believe the pacer, his got a sister and a mum his clearly very close with and doesn’t seam like he’d be making sexist comments.
so much jealousy and insecurity. Try say something uplifting
Hand picked pacers with established running credentials...I doubt any of the 25,000 runners especially people in that pace group started running because of Nedd.
What jealousy? I have achieved way more than him in running, much better PB's and actual race results, yet nowhere near the very elite, so that humbles me. Perspective. It humbles me that you can meet any of these very elite, Ovett, Monners, Lloydie etc etc and they are the nicest people ever, and never mention their achievements. And never a swearword or sexism, especially in a pack of runners there for enjoyment and achievement.
Luckily he couldn't even hold onto the 3hr group after 30km so they got some respite from his cursing.
The guy is a social media influencer, not a running influencer. He’s a tough SOB, but I had plenty of tough SOBs on my HS track team that were sub-par athletes, too.
I also don’t think he’s totally at fault for not brining respect to the sport or greats of the past. He’s a complete noob. He’s really really new to the sport and likely had zero idea the challenge that he was taking on. His opening 160km followed by an 8hr snooze was very indicative of this.
As a fan of both classic running and ultra running, this stunt doesn’t bother me at all. It reminds me of Mike’s grit at the end of the Michael Scott's Dunder Mifflin Scranton Meredith Palmer Memorial Celebrity Rabies Awareness Pro-Am Fun Run Race For the Cure, except his charity might actually do some good.
Shoot me a text when someone with a few thousand lifetime miles goes for the record.

Glad to know you can run 10km (sort of) like Kipchoge.
Let us know when you hire a stadium and a timing company for your own attempt at Breaking 2. You'll do fine as no specific skill, technique or expertise is required apparently.
Just be sure to hype it up on social media to dupe masses of gullible followers that "you got this!!!"
Be sure to raise lots of a charity dollars and inspire some of your followers to get off the couch, (because those are sincerely good things), but it will also insulate you against anyone questioning whether you're anywhere as a good as Kipchoge.
You may even earn your very own thread on Letsrun!
Or you could just rock up at a Backyard ultra and find the atmosphere of ultra running is every bit as inclusive, welcoming and absent of "gatekeeping" as you could wish. Even if you do brag about aiming to run 450 miles in four and half days, you can be sure no one will feel "threatened" or "precious".
