Bizarre run from Hassan. Kipyegon's win was a foregone conclusion but running from the back like that meant she never had a chance, she was about 3-4 meters back at the bell and never narrowed the gap. Awful tactics.

Hassan's race was credible. I thought she would be able to move past Welteji, but that was the 10000 rearing it's head, and yes, she left herself a bit too much work. No chance anybody was going to beat Faith regardless. I don't think anybody is beating Faith in the 5000 either, but Tsegay has a slim chance. Hassan will be battling Chebet for bronze.
