According to the Burisma executive, the company had to "pay the Bidens" because Ukraine's lead prosecutor, Victor Shokin, was investigating Burisma.
According to the CHS, he suggested that the Burisma executive "pay the Bidens $50,000 each," to which the Burisma executive replied "not $50,000," it is "$5 million." "$5 million for one Biden, $5 million for the other Biden," the executive reportedly said. The $5 million payments appeared to reference some sort of "retainer" Burisma intended to pay the Bidens in order to 'clean up' several issues - including the investigation led by Shokin.
And you believe this?
How did Joe and his family acquire all that wealth?
Duh, like Obama and all his houses. But since they’re woke libs it’s OK.
What about all the rank-and-file Republicans (not establishment types) who declared themselves NeverTrumlers in 2016?
What about the NRO group that jumped ship after never yielding an inch to Lund for decades?
What about the many ,many members of his staff who have called him a liar and an ignoramus (his hand-picked “best people”)
what about the suburban voters who backed him in 2016 but were fed up by 2016?
what about alm of the unpaid contractors and duped marks who found out the hard way over the coursed of decades that he’s unwilling to pay his fair share?
what about the thousands of lies he’s told to your face, and what about the brazenness with which he dies that, so certain that his supporters will last ok it all up, with the obviousness of the lie being a feature rather than a bug?
Guy like that gets jndictwd? Oh, yeah, gotta be malicious prosecution.
Intelligence test: whether you decide to respond to Ghost of Igloi.
Don’t worry, I’m not all that bright, either, and not judgmental. And I’ll be here to accompany you to the ER should you decide to keep banging your head into the wall.

I’d have also issued caution about responding to Noyankee, but those in need of that advice wouldn’t be able to read my words. No idea how they access his posts. And I’m astonished that he posts as proficiently as he does, since you’d think … well, you know, evolution and opposable thumbs and all.
He allegedly took a bribe according to a guy who says he was told this by someone else. Even Trump's Attorney General didn't find the allegation credible enough to further investigate.

Thanks for that recitation. I'm sure you know that this version of the incident has been floating around for years. But no one has been able to document a bribe to Biden or establish a money trail. It also is challenged because other European countries wanted the prosecutor terminated because he wasn't actually fighting corruption.
I don't bullsh*t -- I don't pretend to know for certain that there was no bribe. But unlike Mr. Trump's current situation and the accompanying documentation, the Biden allegation remains unsubstantiated. And, as previously noted, AG Barr did not find it credible.

“Let’s put an end to this once and for all. Biden Jr. and Biden Sr. do not appear in this particular proceeding,” Nazar Kholodnytsky, head of anti-corruption investigations [into the Burisma "event"].
"[Hunter Biden's] role has been attacked as corrupt without evidence by Trump and congressional Republicans in Washington."
Ukrainian officials on Saturday said they were offered $5 million in bribes to end a probe into energy company Burisma's founder, but said there was no connection to former board member Hunter Biden whose father is running fo...
Well, if the Biden did something wrong, that must mean that Trump never did anything wrong! Dude, you’re awesome. Now to modus tollens. And truth tables! You are a professor of logic, aren’t you? Is your department math or philosophy? You’re not at a school where Cs houses logic, are you?
Watch what Republicans are doing. They aren’t saying trump didn’t do it. They’re not saying he was right to do it. They’re not defending his actions in any way. They’re attacking Biden. Attacking Garland. Attacking the WIFE of Jack Smith. Making ridiculous comparisons to Nixon & the Clintons. They’re gaslighting. They’re obfuscating. And they’re distracting. Because they simply cannot defend the indefensible.
Kari Lake speaking in Georgia tonight says to get Trump Merrick Garland will have to go through 75 million Americans “and most of us are card-carrying members of the NRA. That’s not a threat, that’s a public service announcement.” Standing ovation.

Don’t worry. Some absolutely will leap to his defense. They will not be subjected to threats of perjury if they lie. They will be comfortably facing re-election in districts where Trump’s favorables are high (so, for example, you won’t get a senator in a 53% R state). If the $ will flow and the votes will be there, damn the truth.
lAnd there used to be more of a look ahead and a concern about a general election, but some of those previous aspirants are probably toast (Cruz, Rubio, Graham) on the national stage, or else they’re strong adherents of the adage about never going broke overestimating the average American. But they can’t all really the lickspittle forever (ok, maybe Graham). And they’ll be bolstered by knowing what Trump could get away with. I just doubt that any will conjure up his voodoo and pull off a similar feat of gaining a following through nothing other brazen hucksterism.

Not a cult
JFC, man, you need the 2nd Am to be able rise up and resist in case you’re ever confronted with an authoritarian demagogue who upends the rule of law, claims authority way beyond what the Constitution accords the executive, contravenes social norms, clearly chooses to put his own interests ahead of this of the Republic, and subverts democracy.
