Ventura’s avg time per runner tied San Clemente and was 5s faster than Great Oak. Why are you ranking Ventura so low? They do have a Fast Horse on their team.
Do they just automatically use the same roster for cif state that they used for sections? can they make as many swaps in that roster as possible from sections to state? I think you are allowed to make one substitution from the CIF state roster for the NXN roster. Without Cantu, it’s extremely risky at NXN if someone in the top 5 falls or drops out or something
Great Oak was missing one of their top guys Nathan Lennox from last race If both Granada / Great Oak beat Ventura, good for them since for both of them it’s looking to the last dance at least for the next few years
Seems like based on this, Dana Hills is looking to be the third best team next year, behind Ventura and Trabuco Hills
Dana Hills is losing their #4 and 7 only. Thats rare for Dana Hills. Usually they lose a few studs. And they are really good this year. Their season-long progression is always very good
San Clemente will be good too but they are losing some key runners
Rosemead Invite was short and if seen through that light roughly 20-30 seconds should be added to each runner. Reason I'm bringing this up is because I think Loyola is finally fading away and might not even make state this year. On a bright note at a verified 3 mile course at the South Bay Twilight, Redondo (D1) and West Torrance (D3) had very strong showings while not being ranked at all in Redondo's case (, they had team averages respectively of 15:29 and 15:26).
Dev Doshi beats Aaron Sahlman, and behind the Youngs by only 11 seconds. No showing of Hector Martinez or Samantha Spaulding Schohn ran the 7th fastest time. My, the competition for the 7th spot is getting intense if Hector doesn’t come back! Porter was like a minute behind Schohn. Dickran #1 freshman. Watson #1 soph but 3 9th graders were better than him. Schohn’s 3 mile was only 18 seconds slower than Cantu’s. Only 1 senior on np JV and he didn’t start.
Also worth noting that: San Clemente’s Taj Clark wasn’t scoring like he did at the beginning of the season. So if he did, Shetty would have been their 7th man. The fight for the 7th spot was happening on this team too but before this race, their top 7 was already decided
I think Ventura will be in that situation again next year. So far they have FastHorse, Grossman, Hammel, Degeorge, Costa and Harris as their top 6. 7th spot will be up for grabs.
San Clemente will need to find a 5th man.
Trabuco Hills will need to close the 4-5 gap. As well as Oakdale.
Oakdale will have a great shot at NXN if they close the 2-5 gap.
