A court that has no respect for 50-100 year old precedents is not a court, it is a legislative body ignoring the most basic principles of American jurisprudence and the spirit of the separation of powers erected in the constitution.
Thank God the justices tasked with deciding Brown v. Board did not see it your way.
Makes sense. There is no constitutional right to abortion. This ruling DOES NOT ban abortions, which is what many on the Left have been trying to say in order to galvanize their base. All this ruling does is turn the decision over to the individual states. Most states have already publicly stated that they will allow abortions, with the limitations varying by state. The Blue States will certainly allow abortions with few limitations. Most Red States will also allow abortions, albeit with strong limitations (i.e., the Mississippi Law that banned abortion after 15 weeks that led to this SCOTUS decision). Possibly a few Deep Red States might ban abortion altogether but this is unlikely. Even is they do, all a woman needs to do is drive across the border and get her abortion. Not much will change with this ruling.
How easily can States overturn or block "trigger laws" following this SC decision?
aren't a big % of those in poverty in big cities, which are mostly in D States where abortion will remain legal? The average poverty level by R and D states are pretty close, but the D population is much higher.
Yes, luckily the large population centers in California, New York, and Illinois will all remain legal to abort areas. However, large population centers in the south, like those in Florida, Texas, Atlanta, will likely make abortion illegal. One in five children in Texas is born into poverty.
CA seems more than willing to cover expenses for "optional" abortions.
"The state’s Republican leadership has long sought to ban abortions, but Roe v. Wade has kept lawmakers from doing so. With that 49-year-old case now overturned, a trigger law will go into effect in the coming weeks that bans all abortions from the moment of fertilization, except in rare cases to save the life of a pregnant patient or prevent “substantial impairment of major bodily function.”
The Texas Tribune has been covering the fight over abortion rights for years. Here’s what you need to know about the ruling and how it will affect Texans.

So rape victims are out of luck it seems. Also, who gets to decide if a medical condition is serious enough for abortion is permissible? Here's another Texas tribune article about a woman with a high risk pregnancy who doesn't even know if it would be legal to abort.
Women’s health care providers are holding back when counseling pregnant patients about treatment options, doctors report pharmacists are hesitant to distribute some prescriptions, and OB-GYN training is diminishing for Texas...

But in some ways, you're right. This will mobilize the left in ways we haven't seen yet. I'm sure my 20 dollars a month will be used to send Laquisha to Mexico for abortion pills so she doesn't have a 5th impoverished child. Of course she'll have to delete her browsing history and lie to police investigators about her miscarriage, but that's just gonna be part of it.

And one in five babies is aborted. Disproportionately black babies as Margaret Sanger intended. Justice Thomas could have been "saved" from poverty had he been aborted. Glad he wasn't.
1. Lefty people like yourself can’t even define what a woman is.
2. You didn’t even read the ruling or understand roe in the first place. Please demonstrate where in the constitution is the right to an abortion and where the decision says this right is gone.
The 14th amendment clearly confers a broad right to privacy that encompasses a right to abortion, gay sex, contraception, gay marriage, interracial marriage, etc.

No. No it does not. Read it again and come back.
Exactly, even the term “right to privacy” is debated.

If you're trying to bait me into saying "The world would be a better place if he had been aborted", I would never say that. Or imply it. No matter how true it may or may not be, I simply would not say "The world would be a better place is Justice Thomas had been aborted." That would be wrong of me to say.
That’s not true at least not in my state. All abortions are illegal no exceptions. If it’s an ectopic pregnancy you’re pretty much just dead. I’m hoping this gets fixed but that’s the status of the law as of 10AM this morning.
Were you thinking that the laws that were in place in 1973 would change by 10am this morning?
So as of this morning doctors will let women die due to ectopic pregnancies in your State? Which State do you live in?
Many of the pre-Roe v. Wade laws against abortion were never officially repealed, and theoretically at least, some of them they go back into effect immediately. Then there are "trigger laws". abortion ban laws in 13 states that were written to go into effect automatically after a theoretical overturning of Roe v. Wade, which has now happened. These states are Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee (effective 30 days after), Texas (effective 30 days after, but old abortion ban law was never repealed and is possibly in effect immediately.), Utah and Wyoming.

The slight difference is that in one case the Court is rolling back established rights while in the other it was granting rights to those who had been denied them.
Democrat lawmakers reacted strongly to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade on Friday, including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Maxine Waters,
Hint for the IQ challenged - What exactly do you think draconian abortion laws do? Couldn't be imposing your will upon women, could it?
I was talking about the few supreme court justices of the early 1970's, not laws passed with the support of the majority of the public. There's a difference of millions and millions of people.
That's an amusing reply. Why? Because it does not in any way address the point I made. Here, I'll type this slowly to help your reading comprehension efforts.
Draconian abortion laws impose the will of others upon women. Those "others" are largely conservatives, imposing their will upon women. Thus the irony of you typing "Liberals will always try to impose their will" in relation to this topic.

Weirdly enough, one of the left's main selling points for legalized abortion is that it will lead to less poor, people of color being born.
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) vowed to “defy” the Supreme Court after it overturned Roe v. Wade on Friday, telling protesters in Washington, D.C., that the decision won’t stop women from obtaining abortions.

Exactly, the 14th amendment does not say that any more than the 2nd amendment says people can only have muskets. Deranged leftists only want to interpret the constitution and laws in ways that give them what they want, not how they are actually written.
