For those of you who are dismissing Coronavirus....

We can't know for sure but it makes sense that most western doctors were dismissive of this as a flu until months later when China announced it was something else entirely.

I had a couple of coworkers (who already had the flu) go out with something different. I had a coworkers son who had the flu run a 105 fever and the doctors could not diagnose him.

It makes much more sense that it went around undetected in the US than it starting in the US with random people getting community transmission with no travel association.

Whoa. This describes my last 4.5 weeks to a T. I’m based in CO. You?

Follow up question for anybody. If you are “recovered” would you still test positive if you took a test? If so, it would be prudent to follow up and notify family and co workers.

If you get a test for the antibodies, yes, it would come up positive if you had it. China has such a test, and it's also been used in Singapore. The CDC is developing their own now. I don't know why they aren't using China's test. I think China's test has been used to screen entire local populations after the coronavirus has gone through and played itself out. That's how accurate case fatality rates can be determined - they've tested everyone, including all the asymptomatics, so they aren't missing people that have it and haven't been tested, and aren't missing people who haven't died yet because all positive cases are resolved (or dead).

I'm sure that researchers will eventually want to test you and Kvothe and any others that have similar illnesses in the past few months. They like to trace things like that to learn from it and set history right.

We all got duped with the Chinese situation - it was their toxic air that was the primary problem which was contributing to the complications from the coronavirus.

Any competent doctor will tell you chronic exposure to highly toxic air = respiratory pathologies and prone to serious complications from viral & bacterial respiratory infections (such as influenza).

Wahun is a toxic air cesspool. China has of some worst toxic air in the world. In fact, air polloution was found to cause an average 1.1 million deaths annually!

Over 1 million deaths annually from toxic, deadly air vs the 3200 or so deaths from the coronavirus. Really? All that fuss over the coronavirus. Seems like they have their priorities all wrong.

And with the lockdown of the city we see this:

China never had an influenza crisis - they had a severe air pollution problem. And now they're back in business firing up the factories and polluting the air the citizens will be sucking up again by the gallon.

And what do ya know - similar problem in Northern Italy with toxic, deadly air:

Air quality in China is certainly a major public health problem, but it's irresponsible to conflate deaths and illness from Corona with air quality. Does it make sense to any reader that the Central Government in China would have no problem poisoning its citizens through air pollution but would then also massively react to an outbreak? One does not equal the other. China has clearly accepted that massive pollution is a price they are willing to pay in order to rapidly modernize. They also rightly recognized, late, that Corona posed a major threat to the populace and to their larger systems related to medicine, public health and infrastructure. It required an absolute martial-law lockdown of tens of millions of people, coupled with extreme measures related to sanitization and treatment for them to 'flatten the curve'. Why would they do that unless they rightly recognized the danger of Corona?

Coronanavirus isn't the flu, it's SARS. That said, SARS is a few magnitudes more dangerous than the flu, and certainly more dangerous than the Spanish Flu of 100 years ago.

Differences today? Knowledge, antibiotics, vaccines, and HYGIENE. Most people who died in the Spanish Flu died because their immunities were run down FROM the flu, then everything else floating around in the early-1900s killed them.

Same deal now. China's air quality sucks. Numbers dropped there because air quality improved. Rates will increase when they ramp up again. Rates in certain European countries are high because everyone smokes in Europe.

Drink coffee, go outside, stay away from people, don't touch your face, wash hands, and apparently take numerous monster dumps daily.

It's not conflating when coronavirus is respiratory virus that's exacerbating by someone with pulmonary disease from toxic air. It's irresponsible to obfuscate the facts:

Too funny - you don't know the Chinese Government very well - power & control is the name of their game. There were protests & uprisings in Wuhan last year over the air pollution problem. You don't protest against the Chinese Government and give them the finger without consequences. This was their way of sending a message with a draconian military-enforced lockdown - power & control. Their economy was crashing anyway with the sanctions and all - so they're not going to care about shutting down their factories for few months. This is the Chinese Government - their people are powerless against them. I bet there won't be anymore protests. Lol.

That's what my doctor said as well. Took a z pack and knocked out the color but still have the stuffy nose and solid white mucus.

Just facts.

China has 1.4 billion population. In 3 months span supposedly had only 3000 deaths.

Italy has 60 million population (23x times less). In 4 weeks time have reached 1800 deaths.

And Italy haven't reached the inflection point yet.

Just stop and think about it.

Lockdown means lockdown. Under the type of quarantine that the doomsayers are calling for. Most people would last for about 2 weeks with food until they would be forced to venture out into society due to hunger.
