To be fair I am pretty sure I am the biggest advocate that dudek was better than tuohy in december last year. I totally agree though that there are other runners that get less attention.
Same thing happened to Alexa Efraimson and Elise Cranny back in the day though when Cain was the best.
Or Cheserek/Futsum when Lucas was there in highschool ( Although there were a good bit of other similar ability runners then. Rosas, Gedyon, Ammar mousa so it kind of makes sense.)
I think it is due to the fact that Tuohy has smashed a number of course records in XC, and also has set 3 HS National records on the track.
On Dudek vs Tuohy, Zofia Dudek definitely ran very well at FL National while Tuohy did not appear at her best at NXN. But just one week prior Tuohy had run very well at the regional meet. If you believe in speed ratings, these were essentially equal runs. How well Dudek would have fared at NXN in those conditions is unknowable, as is how Tuohy would have done in SD. But running well in Portland is not a given - just ask Katelynne Hart.
