Is it too early for race day predictions yet? Assuming the race is run, of course. It should be.
Kipchoge - 2:01:17, WR
Bekele - 2:01:32
I don't think that Bekele will outkick Kipchoge. IIRC, Kipchoge closed faster in his WR race in Berlin than Bekele did when he ran 2:01:41.
Bekele was at some point 30 behind Kipchoge's splits, so he had to push harder to come within 2' of Kipchoge's WR. I think Kipchoge's last mile was faster or something like it. Different races, no way to know who can outkick whom.
I hate to say it, guys, but I don't think this race is going to happen :-/
